Got to this camp site on Friday and went to Reception to meet the owner Mrs Owen. Paid £6.00 per adult and £3 per night for the children. Mrs Owen advised that we could pitch our tents anywhere but if we went right through the gate, we can build a fire there. Set up out tents on the banks of the glorious River Severn. The grass was long but this was cut down on Saturday so it was more manageable to move around. The toilets were very basic but clean as too were the showers. 20p for about 5 minutes of hot water. You also have a small room to do your pot washing where the water is free to use. We absolutely loved this campsite, we went fishing in the River Severn and the children went swimming in there too.
You are about 5 minute drive from the village where there are numerous pubs and a Spar that is well stocked and reasonably priced. You are also about 20 minute drive from Newtown where you have lots of shops.
If you get a chance, go to this Campsite, it is breath taking!!

I go there quite frequently throughout the year whenever its open. A nice friendly campsite which never seems to be crowded. It's an excellent base from which to explore the surrounding countryside. The facilities are fairly basic but clean and more than adequate.
A short walk into the town where there are plenty of shops and pubs and restaurants. I would particularly recommend the Indian restaurant, the food is very good.
The only drawback is that it attracts large groups that like to congregate together and have a communal weekend party. However they do tend to keep away from the main areas and it's usually quite easy to avoid them.

We were here for the first time for a long weekend and I was very happy with the site. It's in a lovely location right on the river - we pitched out tent close to the banks - open fire allowed. Didn't encounter large loud groups but perhaps it was a bit early in the year. Facilities basic but clean enough - two of the 3 ladies' showers were out of action but fixed after we reported this to the owners - a very friendly elderly couple. I would imagine this is a great site for kids too with the farm animals in meadows around the site, a shallow safely 'bouldered off' part in in the river to splash about in, lots of space. It was not very busy and I heard from another visitor all other campsites in the area were booked! Perfect walkable distance from Llanidloes with good Spar and nice restaurants and cafes, great base to explore the area which is absolutely stunning!!!

We stayed on a Sunday and Monday night in early June 2009. On the first night there were two other small groups; on the second just a trailer tent. That's apart from three or four occupied caravans in a separate field. It's a really attractive location and the camping area is large and flat - several acres and next to the river. It really is a working farm; on the last evening they were shearing sheep. The cost was £5 per person per night. There is a little traffic noise from the A470 but this isn't a problem; there is plenty of bird noise in the morning. We were not sure how the toilets would cope if the camping field was even half full. Not sure about the ladies facilities but for the men there was one urinal, two water closets one of which included a shower and two wash basins. There was also another separate shower. Llanidloes is a small moderately well to do town about 10 minutes walk away. As the previous writer said, there is a Spar shop but seemingly not the other large supermarket chains. Good place for walking and cycling, and the Clywedog dam is the tallest concrete dam in the United Kingdom!

What a gem, tucked away out of sight this site was the ideal getaway for me and my family, stunning scenery and tranquillity with great facilities, toilets, showers, park, campers kitchen and a real working form (quite an experience for the kids!) will be going back and would recommend to anyone!
