Large Wal Mart in Cody to stock up on supplies on the road to Yellowstone from the East.
We stayed at Bridge Bay Campground 30 miles from the east entrance to yellowstone. It was a bit of a shock to us that the nearest campsite was 30 miles into the park as we thought we had finished our journey when we reached the park entrance.
Mostly tents on this site, cost per night $17. RV's have seperate campground 3 miles away, but tents are not allowed on that site because of bears. All sites have picnic table and fire pit. All food and odourous goods, eg toothpaste, must be kept in cars apart from when being used, as the smell attracts bears. No showers on site, but flush toilets with cold water basins, and dish washing facilities. Showers available elsewhere for $3. Gas/petrol available in park, also car/RV repair. General supplies and gifts.
Lots to see and do in park including Old Faithful geyser, sulphur pools and hot springs.
