Note that this review is not for the Bedruthan House hotel and campsite, but for an occasional site which opens during July and August.
If someone would like to send me a review of the Bedruthan House site, I'd be delighted.
A gently sloping field next to national trust land. It is open for camping July and August only. It is very basic, just one ladies toilet and one men's plus one shower. However those were clean! There is a water point and the gentleman who runs the site has a little kiosk selling eggs and such. He is very kind, friendly and helpful. The view is stunning being next to the sea on the clifftop. There was plenty of space and you can go where you like. There is no booking, just turn up. Also you can have a fire if it is not too windy. Very close to good beaches like Watergate Bay and Mawgan Porth.

My information is that this camp site is legal for 6 weeks during July/August. So no problems. Not sure about insurance. I don't care anyway. A lovely site, even in August plenty of room. I thought it was our secret.
Views wonderful especially at sunset. Would not go anywhere else. No electric hook up, so no TVs. Great.
A bit of paradise.

This is an absolutely superb camp site. I've been visiting it with my family for 3 years and I know of others who are regulars for longer than that. You have a lovely sloping field that looks out over the sea, some choose to pitch at the top with the better views but we always go towards the bottom closest to the stone wall where its a little more sheltered (on the rare occasions that its very windy) and close to the pathway that leads down to the beach. I wouldn't go anywhere else, it's the most magical beach and the kids love it. You have to brave all the steps to get to the beach and you're not allowed to swim in the sea but there are plenty of deep rockpools to swim in and caves to explore, we often take a portable bbq and a box of wine to enjoy whilst the kids splash around looking for shrimp. We love the fact that we're allowed to have camp fires at the camp and pitch freely wherever we want. The gentleman at the gate is such a kind and sweet man, he ensures that everyone is well catered for and is a fountain of local knowledge. This is camping at its best, the way camping should be and I'll be visiting it every year with much anticipation!

Bedruthan Steps camping is open and licensed for August, it has toilets and shower. It also has public liability insurance. The site is basic, but the views fantastic. The web site is bedruthanstepscamping.co.uk
