This review is rather old. Treat it with care.

When we visited Lordine Court, the owner had just died, and his heirs were having some trouble working out how to operate the place, so it was a bit disorganised.

However, the setting was very nice, and we had a good week.

Pitches with power were (I think) on concrete bases. We are without power, so were in an open field with a wide choice of locations. However, the field was on a significant slope, and it was actually quite difficult to find ground level enough for our folding camper.

The swimming pool is in a semi-enclosed courtyard, and is probably about 15m long. When we were there, it was very cold.

Not much has moved on since the last review.....7 years ago!

The place was run down and could do with some money spent on it. The shower rooms and toilets leave a lot to be desired. A lock on the men's toilet doors would have been nice.

Wouldn't rush back.

It was slope site. At first when we arrived the man in reception wasn't friendly enough and not welcoming us! (we had been on road for 7 hours) Strange to us. Toilet/shower block was not 100% clean. Shop didn't have much choice in stock but to freeze the ice blocks is cheap!! We had been there for 13 nights. Swimming pool rather small. We will not go back there.

Remember that people are always more prepared to write and complain than they are to praise good service.

The field is extremely hilly. The toilets are a disgrace. The site is NOTHING like the web site describes........The staff are arrogant, rude and very unhelpful. The prices are not consistent......and will always have hidden extras when you arrive to pay. The children’s play park is unsafe and dangerous. The bins are always overflowing, and there are wasps EVERYWHERE...... The shop has very little to offer campers....making them travel outside the campsite for small required items.... Different staff charge different prices in the shop and in the bar........There is also a hidden charge for the swimming pool.....not mentioned on the web site......

What more can I say.......we will never return............

In fact it was worth going there to meet other campers who told us of other much better sites.....that we will be visiting........

Disappointing when arrived. The place is rundown and badly needs money spending, the toilet blocks are grim, showers terrible or faulty and no where near up to standard although supposed to be upgraded at end of season long overdue. Staff on reception helpful, even though we booked at short notice. Different prices charged in shop each visit though not much to buy no milk or bread! Overflowing bins not emptied every day lots of wasps .top field level but small, mainly for season pitches. other field large but sloping not many flat pitches for caravan or electric. Outdoor swimming pool very busy with children £14.50 a night at bank holiday caravan and awning. unlikely to return.

In stark contrast to all the other reviews, on this page, we found Lordine Court to be friendly, well laid out and extremely good value for money!

The work on the toilet/shower blocks was near completion, when we were there and they are spacious and clean. The restaurant is superb. They do a smashing full English breakfast and an even better T Bone Steak.

We have booked to return there, for the second week in this coming August.

Friendliest, warmest holiday camp I have ever visited. Yes, toilets are a bit basic and the pool cold, albeit free. I was a very reluctant camper last year. My holidays previously had always been 5/4* hotels and one camping trip in the Rockies in Colorado. Yet this site totally won me over. The residents and staff made me feel like an old friend, both times I have visited.

I may never camp again, but if I do I know it will only be at Lordine Court...

We went Easter 2007. Woman who met us was a doll did anything to help us including offering to give up her dinner break. Site now has new toilets and showers they are excellent red-hot showers with family cubicles. The Pub was great the kids had a great time. All I can say is: apart from the slope on the tent area, which takes a bit of getting used to, the site is perfect. I am booking again to go May bank holiday so that should say something. I would suggest this was a history story now corrected, give it a shot.

We went at the last bank holiday (may) mainly because it was the only place that we could find with spaces! It was only our second break in our newly purchased tourer. When we arrived the Lady at reception was very friendly & helpful, even giving us a nice big space that I could easily reverse into!

We found the whole site very clean & well kept. The pool wasn't open, but if you remember that weekend was horrendous, weather wise. We did use the pub, & to be honest I was not impressed with the obvious "locals" constant foul language, as I had my Kids with me. Apart from that, I did like the place, & would probably return.

Very hilly. Swimming pool ice cold. Toilets a long walk through the car park right in front of the pub and very old when you get there. There are others for the big field which are just as bad. Only two showers in each of the blocks but at least they were hot. Whole place very unfriendly, you would not believe how many rules they have stuck up absolutely everywhere. Will definitely not be going back.

Left today, 1st September 2008. The site was fantastic! The staff were very helpful and friendly. Idyllic, quiet spot, 10 miles from Hastings. The pool is cold but the kids didn't notice! Shop well stocked but no daily papers. There is a slope to the camping area, but it was not a problem. Definitely coming back next year! Didn't try bar or restaurant. Best quality: Quiet and friendly, and clean.

Could improve: The washing up area was in the front of the ladies showers; a separate area would have been better! The men have no excuse then!
