Hat Creek Hereford Ranch Campground and RV Park is the Crown Jewel of the area!! It has huge shade trees, great camp sites (some grass!), hot showers, fishing, swimming, games, children's playground, washers and dryers, small store, wonderful hosts, and it's just down the road from a great little café, Fireside Village. All of this comfort for a reasonable price. If you hope to find an available camp spot during any of the summer three-day weekends (Memorial Day, Fourth of July or Labor Day), call 530-335-7171 months in advance. Other than the major weekends, securing a nice camp spot should be easy, but calling in advance is still your best bet. Our family has visited every year for the last 20 years!!! Nearby Hat Creek Rim is great for hang gliding and paragliding too.

The above review may be rather old but good ol' Hereford Ranch is still the place to be in the Hat Creek valley. They've done many improvements over the last 5 years - it's a great place. Then again there are other nice places in the valley too. You can find out more about the Hat Creek valley by visiting here; www.hatcreek.info

My son and I have been camping at this location for over 38 years! It is everything as stated above plus a whole lot more. Looking for a place that is safe, clean, and family oriented? This is it. Plus, the campground is centrally located from the many attractions in the area. One is only 20 minutes away from Mt Lassen Park, 15 minutes away from the town of Burney, 25 minutes from Burney Falls. Visit Subway Caves 12 minutes down the road. Enjoy fishing? The Hat Creek area is world famous for its fly fishing which my son and I enjoy. Toss in Baum Lake, and Lake Manazita, along with the sights of Fall River Mills, one has plenty to see and do! Another plus.....one only really basically has to travel on two highways (Highway 89 and 299) to see all of the above.
