Cotswold Hoburne is a well-run commercial site. Static caravans and log cabins as well as touring pitches. Full range of facilities, including indoor and outdoor pools (though neither is really quite big enough for the size of the site), eating and drinking etc. and on-site shop.

Toilet facilities are just about adequate in number, with waiting for showers in the rush hours, but they're well built and maintained. Showers are free.

Pitches consist of hard standing surrounded by grass. No hedges or other boundaries, which makes for a very open aspect. We liked it, but some might prefer a greater sense of privacy.

One good children's play area, fenced against dogs.

Lots of waters sports and other activities nearby.

I have been to this site on numerous occasions and it is continually being improved, although I say improved with reservation. The toilet facilities are good, there are plenty of them dotted around the main touring areas, and I have never had to wait for either shower or toilet. On one side of the site are the "A" and "B" touring fields, which are next to each other and have hard standings. In the "B" field the pitches are being separated around the perimeter, and now have hard areas for awnings. I think the pitches are on the small side, as when the awning is erected, there is little room for anything else. On the other side of the site is the third touring area, which is more open, and no hard standings at all, though all pitches have electric hook-ups. One thing I like is the pricing: you pay a fixed price for the pitch with awning and hook-up with up to 6 people. Cheap for the bigger than average family, but expensive for a couple with no children. The other thing which should be pointed out is that the site is prone to flooding in bad weather, especially the more open field ("C" touring field I think). I was last there in spring 2002, so maybe this has improved. Pools are good, and of what I think adequate size. Evening entertainment can be good in the club house, with bingo, games and resident entertainers keeping you occupied throughout. Food is good, and not too expensive in the bar area, and snacks are also available.

We have visited this site twice before and it is great for a hassle free holiday. You can relax and do nothing and still have a fun filled day. I have two children aged two and six and they loved it. Only place which seems to get busy is the club house on the evening, but now that it is all no smoking, I am hoping this will improve too. Great value. 9/10 (Could do with a bigger football, sports area for football mad kids like mine)!

My husband and I visited this site in October 2005 as a wedding present from a good friend who is a frequent user of the touring pitches.

We had a quiet weekend and used most of the facilities. The indoor pool was great(we were the only ones in there at one point)the shop had everything we needed and the restaurant food was good with plenty of it.

We have just booked a 4 day break in august to come back to the site, but this time with a tent and 6 other family members. We are counting the weeks until we go back.

We would recommend this site to anyone with or without children.
