The Pinfold is a small site, run as a sideline rather than as a main business. Room for about 6 units, power available to most if not all. Pitches on fairly level grass, some shady, some exposed. One toilet and one shower. The shower was good, and free, but there was no hot water to the washbasin in the toilet. No facilities for washing dishes or clothes. Plenty of open grass and a climbing frame for the children. Although situated on a minor road, there was still a fair amount of traffic, including lorries and tractors. Also, being in the countryside meant that there was a moderate amount of noise from the likes of cows and wood-pigeons. The craft and machine knitting centre you may see mentioned in some brochures is not currently operational, having sufferred a major fire. Friendly but unobtrusive owners.

This is a very small site with no facilities except a shower and toilet but that was all we needed for a weekend duing the Nantwich music festival. It was unfortunate that one of the other campers rated himself as a musician and accompanied his singing with a guitar all night.

There are two good reasons not to camp here: the family dog and noise. 1) The family's german shepherd dog has the run of the small site and uses it as a toilet. I came across three mounds (this is a big dog and these are big mounds, requiring a shovel) of poo, one of which was just behind a small tree behind my tent and stunk when the wind was right. Probably worse, I watched the owner's son watch the dog do its thing in the middle of a camping pitch and just walk away. 2) A number of businesses are run by the family. The owner keeps chickens and highland cattle; his wife runs a knitting machine sales and training business out of the block at the back of the site; and the son runs a long-distance lorry business to the other side. So you get 18-wheelers creeping through the gravel road that cuts through the middle of the site. The knitting machine building is sometimes let out to practicing bands. The evening I stayed a guy played drums badly (he was just learning) for three hours. And the owner chose to mow the lawns of the camping pitches with a very LOUD tractor mower from 7-8pm just as I was trying to enjoy dinner and wind down for the day. This campsite is just another (small) revenue stream for this family, and to be honest I don't think they have the time to run it properly.
