All activities proposed at the campsite are free of charge. A small donation may be requested for activities involving a partnership with local contributors or contributors outside the campsite. (hikes with a guide, water games on the lake, tennis)

The campsite itself is great, and the location marvellous, but there is never any hot water for basic campers, the ground is infested with moles and mice, the pitches are not all level, the pool is not heated, and it is dirty! And the worst is the treatment of seasonal student workers, who have to suffer the bad temper of their management. It’s really unforgivable, they speak to them like s..t.

They must really need the money to stay there 2 months, the poor things! To have witnessed a shouting match in front of all the clients. The management don’t suffer children and teenagers, and as for foreigners, I’ll not speak of that. They only want your money!

Good welcome for foreigners and hirers of mobile homes, rather less good for basic campers.

Little or no hot water from 29 June to 7 July - a long time !!

Entertainment: not at all what was advertised in the documentation.

Different tariff between the documentation and on site.

In summary: Everything is really very limited, and especially the friendliness of the owners.

Campsite with little in the way of entertainment for adults or children.

That said, pleasant evenings.

As for the friendliness of staff ... quite correct, they’re not friendly.

Having worked there for two months, I can confirm that the owners are completely lunatic, and driven by money.

They are not at all respected in the area, and see the bad side of everything.

I would not return for anything.

The Aquatic Paradise can be summarised as a ridiculous little slide!

Children and foreigners are very badly treated by the owners.

I am disappointed that the clients have to see the Auvergne in this manner.

Murol is a medieval city that is worth a diversion.

Above all, choose a different place to spend your holidays, rather than l’Europe.

Very cool welcome from the owner and his wife. Were persecuted, and saw hooligans everywhere. It gave a very bad impression of the welcome you get in the Auvergne.

The rest of the staff followed his lead.

I am completely in agreement with the message from "Gracieux" above.

In our opinion, the welcome was very good (despite the fact that we are basic campers). The activity team is friendly. The setting is magnificent. Only drawbacks, the limited hot water at busy times, and the lack of water points around the site.

For my part, I find this campsite brilliant. It is very friendly, there are activities etc.

The pitches are well shaded, and the mobile homes very good.

As for those that say that the toilets are dirty, they’d do better to behave better, as when one knows that they are cleaned very early in the morning, and that after hardly an hour, some people have missed... I think some people are the limit, as everything is done to ensure that things are clean.

Frankly, in comparison with other campsites, this one is super!

I regret not being able to return this year. I recommend it to you.

Quite simply shabby; I’ll add no more.

I’m currently working here as an activity leader, and frankly it stinks! The owners are just as described in other messages, but I have the impression that it gets worse every year! There is very little here that’s up to standard (apart from the new fence around the pool, finished the 10 July). And I don’t know how it got its 4 stars, frankly it’s worth a low 3. Better to go to the Ribeyre campsite, it’s just next door, and much better, and the pool complex there is really brill! I don’t think I’ll last the season!

I am currently employed at Camping l’Europe at Murol.

I am very astonished at the negative reviews by the old employees. I cannot understand such ferocity, nor why these people have not taken the trouble to take their complaints to the owner.

I can assure you that the manager of the campsite is completely honest with his employees. He always rewards those who work faithfully, which cannot have been the case for those who write this libel.

He is very friendly and enthusiastic, as he loves his job, and his clients are very satisfied with their stay. He welcomes people into a warm, family-friendly setting.

I can only advise future clients to come to this campsite, or even to call me, as I work at the reception (my name is Sandrine) and I will tell them direct what I’ve told you here.

I have worked for other employers, and I can confirm that the manager of this campsite is the best I have ever had.

Don’t be fooled by these unwarranted criticisms.

My name is Philippe Caplain, I am the manager of Camping l’Europe at Murol.

First of all, I would like to thank the whole of the 2006 team: Mélanie, Audrey, François, Isabelle, Rafael, Alexis, Annie, Sophonie, Laure, Nicolas, Natacha, Célia, Aurélie, Baptiste, Anne-Sophie, Charlotte, Eloise, Benoit, Christophe, Agnes, Cassandre, Julie, Rachel, Camille, and Nicolas, for having supported me from the 1st August when the activity leader for the season, Patrice, let us down without reason.

Not having myself the aptitude for filling the post, the whole of my staff spontaneously gave me their support.

None of my clients had to suffer at all from the departure of Patrice.

Well now, what can I say...

Hiring a mobile home through Carrefour Vacance seemed safe to me... disappointment. Their 4 stars are not justified, the aquatic paradise only exists in the brochure. After August 15, nothing available at the snack bar, and after 9pm they don’t serve food anyway (shame, we were a party of nine)... poor seasonal employees who suffer the "joy and enthusiasm" of their employers in public.

These holidays cost me enough money. We did not participate in the (exorbitant) activities of the site, nor in the free one, that had a shabby air.

On the other hand, the area is superb, and this campsite is a good base for spending the majority of the day away from it!

In the same way, even the clientele seemed embittered - I did not find the camping spirit that I expected.

One positive point - the cars respect pedestrians, and their speed.

How can you explain to people that a campsite is not a hotel, and that the behaviour of people can affect the campsite?

When people cr*p in the showers, spit, take no care of anything, under the pretext that they are not at home, I find it pathetic. And then you blame the campsite. The seasonal workers already have a thankless task, especially those who clean the toilets, but if in addition they have to check every 5 minutes to see if people are behaving themselves, well I say no! stop!

This campsite is super, and the owners and employees do their best to satisfy their clients.

It deserves its 4 stars, and I recommend it.
