Unfriendly people. The management lacks tact. Noisy campsite; toilet blocks not always working, activities rather tedious, as the leaders are part of the owners family, and they’re not at all used to it. So, I felt that the services did not match the price of our stay, compared with other campsites beside the sea.

I can personally recommend this campsite, found in the centre of the mountains, and which has become, thanks to its new owners, a paradise. The change is 100% positive, as much for the cleanliness as for the welcome, without mentioning the décor. To be seen.

The campsite is pleasant, with little streams in the middle of the site. Good reception and entertainments. Some pitches very nice. Swimming pool also very nice. The only criticism is that certain toilet blocks are rather ancient; others are fine.

This campsite has seen such an enormous improvement in such a short time, that you would have to be really bitter and twisted not to recognize it. I went in 2005, and it was really dirty, with very disagreeable owners, and we didn’t leave the mobile home. This year, we were agreeably surprised by the kindness of the new owners and their desire to bring the campsite back to life. True, Paris was not built in a day, and there is still work to do, but the cleanliness is there, and the warm welcome too. So keep up the good work. As for those who trust in "they say...", they need to come and judge for themselves!!!

Visited early August 2006. Noisy campsite, vehicles moving day and night, not very clean, might as well pick a site by the sea!

We’ve been going to this campsite for several summers, and it’s the first year that we’ve been received in a friendly manner, by the new owners, who actually live on the site. A considerable change in:

  • the welcome given to campers

  • the activities

  • the cleanliness of the toilet facilities

We spent a very pleasant fortnight, and look forward to summer 2007!

I went to this campsite this summer, and setting aside the noise, the incompetent staff, and the useless entertainment, I was bored for 2 weeks. No one at reception in case of problems, activity leaders who were always absent, nothing was offered to us. Apart from two people who were doing what they called surveillance after several problems, that was all I saw.

I don’t recommend it.

This campsite is perfect. The owners are cool, smiling and helpful. They have restored the campsite in an amazing way. The toilets had been in a terrible state, and they have renovated and painted them etc, The care of the campsite itself as well, grass cut, tress planted between the chalets, lots of changes in such a short time. In brief, the whole team is better, much better. As for activities, several sports and activities are available : football water polo, boules etc. So, all you critics, stop your bitching.

I came to this campsite last year. I found many changes in terms of improvements. Shame that our babies, as well as ourselves, could not have a siesta because of the incessant passage of quad-bikes!

Never anyone at reception. Prices too high for a family at the restaurant.

No problem with the cleanliness of the facilities, but bring your prices down.

I hired a chalet in 2006, and will not go back. I knew this campsite several years ago, under the old owners when it was much better. The site is noisy and dirty, the managers incompetent, it’s the campers that enforce the rules. Does not merit the 3 stars given to it.

Indeed this site does not merit the three stars given it, but should be getting 4 stars. What a change! In a very short space of time, this site has transformed itself: small pines form the borders of pitches, which gives privacy to each one; flowery decoration embellishes the site; lighting of the site roads has been re-done, and WORKS; the toilet blocks have been renovated, and above all are always very clean, which was not the case with the previous owners - the campsite was drifting. The new owners are ambitious and I am sure they will succeed, for they have good intentions. So do as I do and judge for yourselves, and don’t listen to gossip.

Vive le camping!

I liked this campsite so much, that I have created a forum for it, at http://camping-des-grottes.max2forum.com/ (primarily in French). I recommend it to you, it’s so good: the pool, the Jacuzzi, the disco and the activities. Thanks to all the teams at the Camping des Grottes. Vive le Camping!

We are a family of 7, and we went here, and we left with tears in our eyes, for we had spent a marvellous fortnight; the children got on well right from the start, the owners were very welcoming and always available, the activity leaders really friendly and fun, and the surroundings ... a dream, all those mountains around the campsite, the luxuriant greenery, a breath of fresh air for the eyes, and all those things to do in the area, it’s brilliant!

Thanks to all of you, for having welcomed us so warmly, and for having given us the chance to spend a fortnight of happiness.

We spent a great holiday at this campsite.

The setting is really very pleasant, with the pool, the river and the lake, and everything surrounded by mountains.

The campsite is very family-friendly. Everyone joins in the activities; the holidaymakers, the staff, as well as the owners, who do their utmost to please, and to make your stay very pleasant.

Activities on offer all day, for children and for their parents.

The ground and the toilet blocks are very clean, but that is due to the good behaviour of everyone.

In this campsite, there is always relaxation, peace, and a good atmosphere.

A big Thank You to all of the team, and to gégé, rose, charle.

Les Normands.

Well here’s a campsite that has become very charming, with its new plantings, its pruned trees, its well-tended toilet blocks, re-made roads, and clean pond: a campsite very well kept by its new owners, who do all they can for us, who are there quite often, and especially for you who are passing through, to make us welcome. Never mind the people who criticise, and who say anything, perhaps out of wickedness, do as I do and come to see - they don’t bite. Well done to the new proprietors; keep up the good work with a campsite that is clean and well maintained.
