In the beautiful quiet setting on the southern shore of the Beauly Firth, the Park enjoys wonderful views over the water to Ben Wyvis and the hills beyond. Our 20 acres of peaceful sheltered parkland surrounded by mature trees offer a welcome haven for campers and caravanners with a friendly informal family-run atmosphere.

Bunchrew is like the hub of a wheel - from here you can access the entire Highlands within a few hours. Just 60 miles to the west lies the West Coast, within 10 minutes drive you can be in the heart of europe's last great wilderness. Inverness is just 3 miles to the east.

Bunchrew is open from the middle of March to the end of November.

We have 125 level, grassy pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, of which 50 are supplied with electrical hook-ups, and the site is well provided with all the facilities you will need for a comfortable stay, whether you stop for a night, a week, or longer.

The countryside can change dramatically during the varying seasons of the year: in the Spring the hills and gardens are bursting with colour and the midges are not quite ready to make your acquaintance yet, the Summer days and nights are long and encourage everyone to take out their cameras. Autumnal colours are simply spectacular and the winter months can be equally breathtaking with sharp, clear and crisp days - but chilly nights!

You can also bring your dog (excluding Doberman, Rottweiler, Alsations and Pit Bull Terrier breeds) as long as it is well-behaved and kept on a lead in the park.

Facilities at Bunchrew Caravan Park include:

Fully-equipped toilet facilities and free shower block with hair dryer points

Launderette with washers, tumbledriers and ironing facilities

Well-stocked shop for groceries, papers, milk etc.

Tourist Information

We also have a dishwashing block, chemical disposal point, public telephone, children's play areas and a barbecue for hire. Calor and camping gas are available on site.

This review is rather old. Treat it with care.

I stayed at the Bunchrew campsite during August 1998 for 1 week. This was due to the B.S.A. Owners club National rally being held there. It rained for the entire week so the shower and toilet block floors got a bit muddy but they were cleaned daily. I don't see this as a fault with the running of the site. The shop was well equipped for the week and the public phone box worked. I made use of the dishwashing facility but not the laundry or waste disposal point, so I can't comment on these.

The surrounding scenery was good, I actually spotted an Osprey flying up and down the Beauly Firth.

I also called in there to stay for one night on Tuesday 13th August this year and found the site the same as last time I was there. The owner gave me a warm welcome and I felt happy and relaxed for my one night's stay. The shop was once again well stocked.

I will definitely stay there again if I am in Scotland.

Remember that people are always more prepared to write and complain than they are to praise good service.

Toilets were dirty, mirrors were rusted round the edges, floor tiles uneven and dirty. Apparently, the gents' toilets were even worse - reminiscent of those in the film "Trainspotting". Not entirely the fault of the cleaners; these toilets needed a complete overhaul at the very least.

Lovely campsite, run by lovely people. We have been a few times, and found the site's own review to be accurate. I can honestly say that my holiday has never been ruined by the rust on the mirror edges!

We spent two nights here in July 2005, and found it very good. The manager was really kind, and if you ask him, he will advise you on places to visit in the area.

Good points. Great location close to Inverness. Lovely setting on sea shore. Shop has basics.

Bad Points. Limited toilets/showers - needs upgrading. Shop expensive. Site has 40+ caravans / statics with people living in them. They do not interfere with your holiday, but some vans would not look out of place on a building site. I did not like the feeling of having a holiday next door to someone living on the cheap.

Lovely camping, with the chance to see owls, and close to the town. The owner is really very kind, and even speaks French [This review was written in French].

The showers are free, but not in an especially good state in the ladies. On the other hand, in the men’s it was very good, as the floor had been totally relaid.

The toilets were clean.

Take a torch with you, as it was not well lit, but in itself, this is not a fault.

There are several wooden tables for picnicking, which is great.

The site was very good for tents.
