Camping facilities on the holiday park are second to none. There are toilets, showers and laundry rooms situated conveniently around the park.

We have a large number of electric hook-up points, some with water and waste disposal facilities

The rainfall figures for Mersea Island are amongst the lowest in the country.

A barbecue is ideal and supplies can be bought from the shops on site.

Our "Captain Seagull" Kids Club gives plenty of enjoyment during school holidays and brings childhood friendships closer together.

There's lots to do to occupy your children under adult supervision

There are two adventure play areas within easy access from all areas of the Waldregraves Holiday Park

When I went to Waldegraves last year (2002) it was the best holiday I had ever been on.

Remember that people are always more prepared to write and complain than they are to praise good service.

Visited this site the once, toilets rotten, showers disgusting (caused by other visitors admittedly). Kids there were doing the cleaning - which they weren’t managing to do very well... nasty site - never again! Some permanent residents on site as well...

We were staying at Seaview along the beach and walked to Waldegraves to see what was going on, as the noise was horrific. Came across haphazardly pitched tents and other vehicles (old ambulances converted etc.) what a mess - as rough as it could possibly be. Turned out there was a marquee pitched and some sort of "concert" on site. I'm not averse to anything "new age" but felt vulnerable and couldn't wait to get away. Kids running barefoot, covered in dirt, you know what I'm saying..... would not touch this place with a barge pole.

Pitched a tent here for three nights in May 2007. I arrived without a booking at ten p.m. and although the office was closed, a very helpful staff member working in the bar gave me a site pass for £10 deposit and told me to pitch where I was happy.

Went in and paid the required fees in the morning, very friendly and helpful staff.

Facilities were clean and showers warm (both water and heating - important as the weather was not good)

Not many people on site, but everything looked well maintained and clean.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

We too visited in May and have to say it was an experience we will definitely not be repeating. It was a total rip off at £31 a night. A bottle of lemonade was £2 and it was only cheap stuff! The dog waste bins were overflowing and not emptied all weekend. The chemical disposal point was gross. Dirty nappies all over the floors in the bin area and the stench was unbearable from the open sewers near the toilet block. Anybody requiring photographic evidence of this please feel free to email me. Wrote and complained and got the usual "sorry this will never happen again".

In response to the comment about only pointing out bad experiences we have had only good experiences until we visited Waldegraves and their shoddy customer services should be shared.

Visited Waldegraves recently and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Lots to do for the kids, they loved Sammy the seagull and the two lads running the entertainment were excellent. We booked in advance and were allocated a lovely pitch near to all the facilities. On a busy weekend, the cleaners did a fantastic job in keeping the toilets and showers clean. The new restaurant was also great. Lovely food, fast service. Well done to Waldegraves, best camping experience we've had!!

Good Points:- Lovely site, the grass is always kept short, lovely swimming pool, near to beach.

Bad Points:- Pup tents, dogs, awnings, extra cars, visitors, gazebos all are extras that have to be paid for ON TOP of pitch price. Restaurant very expensive as are drinks in the bar. The shop is well over priced so take your own food. Sprite nearly £2.00 in the shop! What is very sad though is that the Owner Mr Lord junior has no regard for his customers and basically if you have a complaint its tough luck!! If you go to this site make sure you can put up or shut up. Unfortunately helpful staff are definitely in the minority here.

In response to Val, who described the site as "new age", this only happens at Waldegraves 1 week a year at the end of July. It is HES FES, a festival for home educated children, everyone there for one week for the same reason. it is not like that the rest of the year!!!!

We stayed at Waldegraves; never again; the roads have huge pot holes so cannot ride a bike in safety; the fishing lakes are falling in at the swims so are unsafe to fish, and the outdoor swimming pool was freezing cold with the heater broken.

On top of all this the site floods and you get flooding up to your caravan. Is very expensive for what it is.
