The site has got a lot bigger since our last stay. We stayed with Canvas Holidays in one of the Millennium caravans. The caravan was very spacious with 3 good sized bedrooms that was just slightly too small for our party (4 adults & 3 children).
We were located in the new area which is quite a distance from the facilities. The vegetation in this area was still very young, no doubt this will start to look more homely once it all starts to grow a bit.
Despite the expansion the number of washing machines & driers has remained the same (3 of each). This can involve a bit of a wait. Also, for 1 load of washing you will need 2 tokens for the driers as they are either lacking warm air or just don't operate for long enough per token.
The site shop and bakery were always well stocked but I though the shop had a bad smell (Mind you, this is France!). Unfortunately a poor exchange rate made the holiday very expensive so I can't really comment on value.
The takeaway (Berny Burger) service was good with a nice selection of food. It was suprising to see the same staff working there as 2 years ago.
The restaurant was good and the food was ok, nothing exceptional. Combined with the typical french sense of humour I wouldn't recommend it if you have alternatives.
Wireless internet access is available in the bar. There's no trick to connecting, it's just the same as your home network. The network name was "Summer". You are supposed to pay 5 Euros per day to use it but is not a requirement to connecting (You know what I mean).
The pools were good. Only the indoor pools were open due to time of year. They were very popular but not crowded. The changing area was a major let down. It feels unfinished and the floor is constantly dirty/gritty due to people treading stuff through from outside.
The toilet blocks were not open as the tent season had not started but a quick inspection revealed a lot of damage, I assume they were working on them ready for the season to start.
There was a good play area for kids. You need to pay for activities like the bouncy castle, trampolines etc but savings can be made by purchasing the site leisure passes.
The site is well located for many days out. We easily managed Disney, Parc Asterix, Parc Saint Paul & Paris. The site had a courtesy bus to Disney but we did not use it. The bus was a large double decker that looked quite new.
Overall a good site that does not want to expand any further. The facilities could do with some maintenance / updating. The holiday was very enjoyable and we will definitely return.

2nd time we have been to LCDVP and we are going back in July the same year.
Went with Keycamp, very good service and they respected our privacy too.
When we went the site was very quiet, and it did mention this in our holiday brochure, but when we go in July I am sure it will be busier. In Vic-Sur-Aisne there wasn't too much to do so we spent most of our days in Paris but I enjoyed the morning stroll into the delightful village.
Would recommend this for a camper who enjoys the better things in life :)

We have been here three times. Once at Easter, once during the October holidays and in the summer. We much preferred the site out of season. Most of the caravans were occupied out of the main summer season but there were few campers.
The pool has seen better days but we loved it just the same. Please heat a little more early and late season.
The take out by campsite standards was reasonable and the staff friendly enough if you were. The restaurant was a bit naff though. There is a much much better restaurant in a village just before Soissons if you take the back road. It is Red and White and very French but the can speak english.
The bar is expensive but then they always are.
The site is easy to get to and really close to Paris and all it has to offer. The coach to Paris or Eurodisney is great but even out of season they can fill it twice over so book early.
The supermarket has enough to keep you going and the fresh bread cooked throughout the day is brilliant.
There is a better supermarket at Soissons. Keep going when you get to Soissons take the second big roundabout and you will come to the Cora store. Cheap and large.
We will go back again 2009 hopefully twice but at Easter and October.
Brilliant for my 8 year of and plenty of kids and felt safe.
Yes there are lots of football shirts fishing but they sip their lager quietly or they will disturb the fish! No problem unless different types of people bother you.
If you have young children give this site a try

We have been visiting the site for the past 5 years and every year just gets better evidence being that there are now 25 of us (including kids) going this may (2009). We always have a great time. The men are off doing their yearly ''I caught the biggest fish'' competition. While the women are relaxing basking in the french delights. Meanwhile the kids are safe to play and go to the shop, roam the campsite creating adventures that they would not have the freedom to do at home in Britain I'm afraid to say. This why la Croix du Vieux Pont is the ideal place for a family holiday and would recommend it to anyone of any age. A couple we were talking to last year said that they had been holidaying in France for 27 year and that la Croix was the best place they had found. And we were lucky enough to find it first time. Roll on May.

First things first - Don't go here with Eurocamp. Both our and our neighbour's caravans were filthy.
Apart from that, we had a great time with great weather. Resort is nice, but I suspect that it could be very busy & noisy when the school holidays are in full swing. The pool complex is nice but again could be cramped during high season. The playpark and facilities will be invaluable for under 10's. The staff were also very friendly.
We took the coach tour to Paris (not complimentary as described by another reviewer) which we found to be excellent value for 2 Adults & 2 kids for a total of 70 Euros, in a nice comfortable bus.
Please visit the tourist information in Vic Sur Aisne (5 mins car journey away) where you will be met by a very enthuastic local lady who's got loads of useful info.
There's a great "Cora" supermarket on the outskirts (south) of Soissons.
A very nice area of France with lots to do if you don't fancy lounging around the site.

Remember that people are always more prepared to write and complain than they are to praise good service.

I have visited this campsite around 9 or 10 times over the last twelve years staying at various times in mobile homes, pre-erected tents and our own tent. The site has developed considerably during that period and does indeed have excellent facilities as described by other reviewers. Our last visit however was spoilt when a group of local youths were placed next to our tent in le parc, their constant drinking, drug taking and general anti-social behaviour was intimidating and unnerving, particularly for our children. To cap it all we had money taken from our tent within 24hr of their arrival! Reception were unable to offer any help and the local Gendarmerie would only log a report of the theft if we could provide a translator.
If the sites owner's are to accept this type of clientele on to the site and condone their behaviour they need to consider where they locate them as placing them amongst family groups is totally inappropriate.
Sadly, I very much doubt we will be making any further return visits to a site where we have had so many enjoyable holidays.

Lovely site we have visited for the last 3 years and currently booking next year! We have progressed from Eurocamp to our own caravan and haven't looked back. New things in the area include the french version of 'go ape' just a few miles down the road which we found by accident. Very cheap just £25 for 1 adult and 2 children for the whole day. Not to mention Disney which we were very brave and drove to this year with absolutely no problems. The site is clean and staff very helpful and do wonderful kiddy disco's downstairs designed to wear out even the most energetic children

We have just returned from a camping trip to this massive site. There are 4 in our family, mum, dad, daughter aged 11 and son aged 9 and there is everything here that you could want. We stayed for 5 nights in our own tent and despite it raining for 2 days, thoroughly enjoyed it. We took our bikes and cycled around the site to find our way around it is so big! The children took advantage of the free archery lessons that run most days (mornings and afternoons) places are limited so get there early. We also booked a tennis court complete with racquets and balls for an hour and loved it so much we paid for an extra hour.
The swimming pools are excellent, even though the outdoor pool is freezing it is welcome when the weather is so hot!
We couldn't get seats on the coach to Paris as it was so popular so would recommend booking as soon as you arrive but we drove ourselves there and spent a pleasant day in Paris. The toilets don't have paper so you see everyone wandering to and fro with their own rolls and they are also unisex which took a bit of getting used to.
The bakery bakes beautiful french sticks every day and lovely pastries as well.
The restaurant is ok and always busy (book if possible) and the takeaway is surprisingly good. There was always something going on at the bar (karaoke, quiz, even a live band whilst we were there).
We were in a lovely position very close to the river that runs all along the side of the campsite with trees and a little bridge. There are hundreds of ducks and they all had ducklings waddling along with them. Gorgeous. They were not at all timid and would even take bread from your hand, which the kids loved of course.
All in all a perfect place to go camping either in your own tent, caravan, motorhome or in one which is already there (siblu, canvas holidays, eurocamp, keycamp).
So much to do you will never be bored and yet if you want to be bored and just relax there is room for doing just that.

Stayed here with In2camping.
Excellent site, good facilities with a lively campsite bar, 3 pools with waterslide and tabac Chez Michelin approx 1 km away.
Unfortunately In2camping were not up to scratch. Mobile was dirty, with mouldy curtains. The sofa seating was too short for the sofa itself. Inventory and linen was all mismatched. Not very impressed. The company needs to spend some money.
We would go back to the campsite, but would try another company.

We went to the Croix du Vieux Pont at Berny on the advice of friends who spent a weekend there in 2004, and since then we’ve been going several times a year. We have taken members of the family as well as friends. They have all been charmed by this fabulous site, very clean, with an exemplary staff, very courteous, who don’t send you away if you ask for a service of some sort. We were in a motore home, 7m long, with a trailer of 3.5m, and every time we have obtained a very large pitch. Everything (reception, games, pool etc) is beyond reproach. Keep up the good work. We have also spent time in other regions where we have stayed at 3 and 4 star campsites that don’t deserve them. Hats off to the staff of this campsite and its management, who know how to make our stays so pleasant. Thanks again.

We are now in our 2nd year staying on this site. We are two families that tour with caravans for a minimum of 3 weeks but this year 4 weeks to this site. It is the best facility that we have experienced so far. Child friendly, staff good, sites excellent & spacious, public rooms excellent also. Very clean & staff are bilingual more friendly if you try to parlez en francais. We have visited many sites over the last 6 years and this is the best!. It is a great base to tour historic sites. go shopping, go to Paris, or just hang around if the weather is too hot to go anywhere else. Everything works!! and it does not take you all day to check in as I have found on other sites. We have met many very pleasant people from the UK & Ireland, families and many retired couples alike. Recommend very highly!!!
