Me and my family have been going to this campsite for the last 6 years and we are going this year again. I honestly don’t know where to start. The pool is fantastic for kids and adults, the weather is always fab. The restaurant there is gorgeous. It’s close to the beach, near to lots of great french shops. There is a bar and there is lots of entertainment there at night (when you are trying to go to sleep at your pitch there is no noise). There is a wonderful playground for kids. You’re always sure that your kids are safe there. Staff are lovely. The place is never noisy. I would highly recommend this campsite.

Just spent 16 days at La Loubine. We had a warm welcome when we arrived and the staff were all very friendly and helpful, fantastic swimming pools, 5 slides to the outdoor pool and 3 to the indoor pool, shoes had to be taken off outside the complex, so everywhere was spotless, had a sauna and plenty of sunloungers for all, entertainment was great for all ages from morning til night, saw a great African band while there, our daughter pitched next to us with her 4 boys, and we hardly saw them, they made lots of nice friends, and have exchanged email addresses with some French, English and Dutch pals they met, great for cycling and walking, lovely beaches too, we took the satellite dish to watch a bit of the Olympics, but you cannot get a signal due to the trees, my only complaint was the toilet facilities, none in the shower blocks at all, and no hand wash basins in the toilets, there was one sink outside for use of all toilets, but no soap and drying facilities, and the toilets were for both sexes to use, no bins for used sanitary wear, so I found it disgusting that used sanitary wear was put in small open plastic bins for all to see, as children were in these toilets as well, it was not at all hygienic, you also had to take your own toilet paper with you, but I know this is the case at a lot of places in France, we used our own toilet in the motorhome after seeing this, also our family who were next to us in their tent, or went up to the club or pool toilets, apart from that everything else was great, but at today's standards the toilets should be in the gents and ladies shower blocks, showers were great.

I've just returned from 4 days at La Loubine, and this site is definitely one to avoid if you have children!
I have seldom seen such filthy toilets (morning till night), so few toilets available for so many people, and a disco making a monstrous racket until 1 or 1:30 in the morning.
It's a nightmare if, like me, you like some peace, and cleanliness worthy of a 4* site.
A shame, as the surrounding area is fantastic.

I spent a fortnight here in a tent, and I was very disappointed. Not enough toilet facilities, and they were very dirty. Mould in the washing up sinks. For a 4-star site, this is poor.
Lots of noise at night, there are people arriving in the middle of the night, and where is the security meanwhile? Pitch was dirty and not mown.
Pool was too small, and cold.
Very disappointing site, and you can understand why they want the whole of the fees at the time of booking.

Spent a week on this site with my husband and 4 daughters this summer in our tent and have never experienced disgusting washblocks. The toilets were filthy, didn't have loo seats and were unisex. For some strange reason most of the toilets were locked at night, long before the bar closed?! The showers were beyond a joke, barely warm and just a trickle of water. All 6 of us thought the poor toilet facilities ruined the week.
Also found the site to be quite rough, girls witnessed nastly fight between french/irish teenagers. Surrounding area not the nicest part of the Vendee by a long way.
Couldn't fault pools/slides or park, both very good but would never go back to this site as toilets were so grim.

We have stayed at this campsite in a mobile home for the last four years now and we have been very impressed by the staff ..! The facilities are brilliant and there is something for everyone to do day and night ..! At night you would never be bored there is also great things to do whether its disco ..! or just listening to a live band there is something for the young and old..!! The pool is fantastic there is so many slides and activities to do ..!! The shop is very small and basic but for some bread or drink it does the job ...! Overall we are very impressed with everything to do with this campsite and hope to be returning this year ..!!

I spent the last week of August at La Loubine, and I remember my holidays fondly. I went with two friends (21 years old), in a Vacansoleil luxury tent. The activities were varied (beach volleyball, tennis, water games, football, pétanque, paintball, karting, beach day, poker, dance evenings, karaoke, etc) and the leaders were really friendly. Contrary to what Marc says, the disco makes a racket only till quarter or half past midnight at most. The word ‘racket’ is true enough, as our tent was at the far end of the site, and you could hear the start of the evening entertainment.
The pool is excellent, with its numerous slides. There are enough sunbeds that you don’t have to stand around.
As for the toilet blocks, they are cleaned every day, and are therefore clean, if only everyone has a go with the mop after showering, as clearly walking in shoes on a wet floor leaves its mark! However, I did find that the number of toilets and showers was insufficient for the number of campers. In the block closest to our tent, 6 showers, 5 toilettes.
In the small shop, you’ll find a minimum of stock, so it’s worth doing your shopping elsewhere, expect for breakfast. Overall, though, the prices are not too bad.
Overall, our stay was very good, but I would recommend it mostly to youngsters, or those who want to have fun. People looking for peace should look elsewhere.

We have just returned from 2 weeks in France, the first 10 days spent at this campsite. We went as a family 2 Adults 2 children 17 and 14, must say this site was not for us, the space between other mobiles/tents is very limited also very shaded (too many trees). We arrived on the Tuesday afternoon, in the evening the disco until after midnight, with a high volume level; nearly every morning aquagym to music at a high volume level, the only bonus was the lovely sea front at Sables D'Olonne and the town itself, we were all very pleased when we moved up to Brittany, we had the last 4 days at Chateau Des Ormes, definitely wont be returning, not one for us!

We spent two weeks at La Loubine, and we were very disappointed by this 4* site, which does not deserve it.
The NEGATIVE:
- campsite roads not tarmaced, so dust everywhere!
- Bins in the toilets not covered
- Showers variously boiling or freezing
- Toilet blocks closed at night
- Water points a long way from the pitches
- Night watchman who uses his job to chat up girls, and who allows himself a little snooze around 4am in the toilets, and he’s not discreet, as he snores!
- No respect for quiet after 11pm
- Basic and repetitive entertainment
- No barbecue spot, everyone does what they want
- Rather unfriendly welcome, and they recommended us to the Luna Park, which has not existed for 2 years
- Riding centre: the ranch is badly organised, horses are injured, and the staff is too young.
The POSITIVE:
+ Good pool complex
+ The beach at Sauveterre is nice, with lifeguards
+ Camping pitches are shaded
+ Lots of cycle routes
I don’t recommend this site for a family with children.

Hello,
We’re just back from a fortnight at La Loubine, but it left a little to be desired. Not enough entertainment for the children. When there are discos, the room is too small, and you have to buy something to eat or drink if you want to be there. So we only spent 3 evenings there, as drinking at 5 euros a time is too expensive. The pool is super, but the indoor one, when crowded, is dangerous with its slides, especially when there are young ones learning to swim. The outside one is fine, if a little cold. The aquagym is ok, but just half an hour is not enough. So our advice: we’ll not be going back here, and good luck to those who go back there every year.
