This review is rather old. Treat it with care.

Another good site. Well worth a visit. No caravans. No hookups. Entrance road is quite steep and may require first gear if you don't get up a head of steam. Site run by Camping and Caravan Club. Non-members welcome.

Small site. Very cosmopolitan - as many Europeans as English. Quite lively at night - possibly because most campers were in tents.

Some pitches were very small.

Well away from any busy roads and nice views of the cliffs.

Facilities are showing their age. You need a key from the warden to get in any of them and sometimes past the barrier on the road into the site.

Mackerel fishing from the beach seemed popular.

Two toilet blocks. No hand driers. Showers were reasonable size but temperature stability was poor - pick a slack period. No private washing. Two household size washing up sinks outside under a canopy.

On site facilities Normal C&CC facilities.

Good walks both ways along the beach and trails on the cliffs. Folkestone is just over a mile away along the beach and up some rough steps near the Martello Tower.

The review above from 1999 is well out of date - there are now electric hook-ups available, the toilet blocks have been rebuilt, the washing up facilities in one block are completely inside the building and there is a washing machine and a tumble drier. Also hand driers in both toilet blocks.

But the stunning views of the sea are the same and if you go when it is not too busy, you will see lots of rabbits running around. The approach road to the site is not only very steep, we found this year that there are large pot holes in it, could do your outfit some damage if you are not careful. The problem is that the site is not owned by the camping club and they have to rely on Folkestone council for improvements. Still no caravans, rather too many motorhomes for my taste! But terraced sites for small tents.
