Site run by Camping and Caravan Club.

This site didn't really offer what we want so considering it's distance from our home I doubt that we'll go back. Having said that we met several people who regularly use this site and there is nothing actually wrong with it.

General: Fair sized site. Warden was careful to keep old farts like us separated from the families. This led to our area of the site being a bit crowded with wide open spaces in clear view.

The site is mostly level and has very good roadways. Some sheltered areas but mostly open. Facing into the site from the roadway you are looking due east.

If you fancy a safari to Africa but can't afford one just camp here shut your eyes and dream - the animals are quite noisy. I remember years ago in a zoo that when the lions roared in a particular way the mums always said "Come on lets look at the zebras" or some such. If those lions were doing what it sounded like I'm torn between awe at their stamina and jealousy - they kept it up (no pun intended) more or less hourly all day.

Single toilet block. Three cubicles. Three washing cubicles. Five ! showers. The showers were the "push the plunger to keep it coming" type with no other adjustment. The water came out at near supersonic speed at just off the boil - an experience to say the least.

Washing up: Best I've ever seen. Three domestic sized sinks. Plenty of hot water. Actually mounted at a sensible height - great. If you are one of those lazy bu**ers who sends their tiny tots to wash up you'd better give 'em a stool.

On site facilities: Normal C&CC facilities. Chip van Friday nights 5:30 - 6:30 (ish). Just offsite big Sunday market/carboot.

Walks: Not too good. It's a long way to Kessingland beach (around a mile). If you like to walk to the pub you're in luck - it's only a few hundred yards away with at least two others in Kessingland High Street - see map board near reception.
