All the coments above are true, but we thought the pitches were very close together, and when we got there it had been raining and you could not put the awning up as every pitch was very wet and muddy.
Managed to get on slabs after we had been there a few days. They were grass seeding the pitches. If they had a no-ground-sheet rule they would not have had that problem.
Overall a nice site, but a little on the expensive side.

Excellent site. As lone female traveller it was a good base plenty to do but secure site. The owners will also charge your mobile phone up for you - how good is that?
Great place, highly recommended

The Plassey is hard to describe. As mentioned previously, the pitches are close together and the site very claustrophobic at weekends, even in September. Footballs skateboards and bikes are banned on site, so the older kids descend onto the kiddies play area and make life difficult for the younger ones. A range of sporting activity is available on site from badminton to table tennis, diversions that could only distract six or so older kids from the play area at any given time. The "free fishing" was poor - three stagnant pools containing an occasional tiny perch or roach.
On the positive side, the loos were very clean and the site was generally well manicured. Hook-ups appeared to be universal. There was also a diverse range of retail outlets on-site including a brewery (that was permanently closed during my week-long stay). The whole place has an air of inescapable orderliness about it, rather like the village in "The Prisoner" TV series. I half expected a large balloon to appear out of the ground to engulf me whenever I walked across to the loos. I must have been missing something - it's a very popular site. Perhaps it's just not my cup of tea.

I can't dispute most of the comments above. However whilst wardens/owners are polite there is a real 'snobbishness' regarding tents! We visit every year with the primary reason of attending Bangor on Dee racecourse. We all have families and (even though I am biased) very well behaved children however every year on arrival we are made to feel slightly like second class citizens and are told before we have even pitched the tents that we need to keep the noise down!
On the positive side however the site is very well maintained, the loos and showers spotless, the shop well stocked - and my husband tells me that the bar is nice and very reasonably priced.

I have just returned from this site with my family. We have two boys aged 11 and 9, they loved it here as there was plenty to do for them even if the weather was bad ( which it was). However, my husband and I were slightly disappointed with the site. Our main reason for visiting this site was because it had fishing pools so my husband and the boys could go fishing as and when but the pools were disgraceful. They have obviously not been looked after at all and look lifeless and poor even to the novice fisherman. We were quite surprised by this as the rest of the site is kept immaculate. The showers and toilets were spotless although there aren't many showers compared to the number of caravans and tents that are packed in there. Overall, nice campsite for a weekend but no longer.
