A very basic site in beautiful Dorset. But beware of the access to the campsite as this is down a steep stony track, which is not suitable for low cars. Caution must also be taken by those who are towing. I struggled getting up the track to the road in fine dry weather - I'd hate to imagine what it would be like in wet conditions.

Stayed at this campsite for a week last year and it was fantastic! We went during the week and it was lovely and peaceful. Loads of room to chose from to pitch your tent and there are beautiful sea views. This is the best campsite I have ever been to and would recommend it to anyone!

The toilets and showers are pretty basic (I didn’t attempt the hole in the ground ones!) however the toilets were always spotless and so no complaints there. The showers....well they are 'solar', which seemed to translate to FREEZING when I had one, but I think that's probably coz it was early morning and they hadn’t had time to heat up. There are also apparently 2 proper hot showers, which unfortunately I didn’t find out till I got home!

Campfires are allowed here which it what makes this place so special. You are free to go around the farm and find your own wood from wherever you like. It's so lovely to sit there at night round a real fire- it creates a lovely atmosphere.

To conclude, go to this campsite, it's fab! This year I have chosen to go there for a week instead of going aboard because I loved it so much. Can't comment on all the comments I’ve seen about bank holidays, but it was definitely fantastic during the week

I went to this campsite for Bank Holiday August 2004 and we thought it was beautiful, peaceful, plenty of space, quiet, and relaxing. Fantastic coastal views. Basic but adequate facilities.

After our good experience we decided to go back August 2005 Bank Holiday - big mistake! The owner, without having mentioned anything on his website, or in e-mails to me when booking, had decided to arrange a rock concert on the bank holiday weekend...

Result? The place was heaving with young (mostly male) noisy, drunken, partygoers. Music blared from huge speakers across the campsite Friday and most of Saturday until the council stepped in and stopped it, after which it blared from disappointed partygoer's cars instead.

We reckoned there were about 500-600 tents on site (most with vehicles) and about 2000+ people. The "facilities" simply stopped working - the place ran out of water and the loos were disgusting.

Judging by the complaints, I don't think we were the only shocked returning visitors from 2004. Needless to say, August Bank Holiday 2006 we shall be going elsewhere - never again!

We've had 2 fantastic holidays on this site. One week mid August 2005 and 8 days at the beginning of the month last year. You have to remember that this is a WORKING FARM and the facilities can only be basic, which we consider to be part of the charm - something like camping was like when we were kids! Our kids love the fact that they can climb up and down the cliff to the beach and best of all, collect wood for campfires every day. We tend to opt to have our showers during the afternoon when few other people do and find that the water is beautifully warm. Yes, the track to the site is narrow and a bit rough, but there are places you can reverse to, to enable others to pass by. Simple pleasures are the best - if you want 5*, go elsewhere and leave us basic campers to enjoy it!

We stayed for 4 days early August! A massive site even though it was "Fully Booked" it seemed empty, a bit more crowded towards the beach though. Fantastic views as you come off the main road down the steep rubble track, fairly flat pitches, Lots of space for free range kids to play. oh and open fires are allowed! BUT..... Grumpy reception, no info on where to find (Drinkable) water taps offered (Not all taps are drinkable!!!) just a simple A4 map would have been nice. Facilities very spartan, lots of hole-in-the-floor toilet tents around and one or two flushing loos for the whole site. Very few showers, all but 2 are solar powered and hence 90% of the time lukewarm. Small farm shop sells Organic meats, veg, milk and nice bread etc, couldn't work out how fresh the bread was as it arrived in the evening (after the shop closed!!!)

Facilities for kids consist of a pile of hay bails in the middle of each field which they loved... not a bad site really! It has a "Will be nice when it's finished" feel!

We spent 11 days at Eweleaze last August departing on the Friday of the Bank Holiday week-end. I saw little evidence of anti-social behaviour, no loud music, nobody wandering around stoned or drunk. The weather was pretty awful for much of our stay, the tracks through the site were impossible on some days, without a 4x4 vehicle, because of the mud. Despite that, I will certainly be back. It is a beautiful site with a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere and it was lovely to sit outside the tent in the evening around the fire.

Remember that people are always more prepared to write and complain than they are to praise good service.

We just returned from a bank holiday weekend visit to this site and have to warn anyone wanting a peaceful, rural or quiet family break that this is definitely not the right place. Loud music played all day and all night, lots of people were stoned and drunk even in the middle of the day, fireworks were allowed and were let off in the early hours of the morning and some of the campfires were more like huge bonfires. The site is in a beautiful location but the absence of any rules means that it attracts people who want a wild party, rather than families. To cap things off, the entire site ran out of water on Sunday morning, at which point we abandoned our holiday and went home early. I think the owners of the site had pound signs flashing in front of their eyes, because the number of tents well exceeded the stated number of pitches, and we were crammed in like sardines.
