We spent nearly 2 weeks here early in the Summer 09.
The site: Small pitches on a relatively small campsite. Nice pool and slides. Pool area, shop, bar etc accessible for wheelchair users (one of us uses a w'chair). All the usual campsite amenities - shop, takeaway, restaurant, bar etc. We found the prices expensive; the shop (90c for one croissant ) and the internet (2 Euro for 15 mins), pizzas for 8-10 Euros. Felt a bit ripped off but not much different to other sites in France. When we were there lots of young families around and that was a good thing.
The location: Very close to beach, 400m walk over the dunes - easy for most but difficult/impossible if you have buggy or wheelchair. Lots of other campsites on this strip of coast. Road in front of site can be busy.
Five mins walk to Marche U and other shops/restaurants. Very touristy, lots of neon but also lots of French families on holiday.
Lots of cycling - sometimes more cyclists than pedestrians.
St Giles - nice little port town close by.
Puy de Fou - 80 miles each way but a cracking day out if you have kids - go early, take food and water, prepare to walk a bit. Not many English when we were there.
Velo Rail - make sure you book in advance.
Would we go again to this area - Yes.
Would we go again to this sight - Very possibly.
Review on another website claims that a child had died in the water slide area in July 09 - cannot say whether this is true or not. Pool area not supervised.

Just come back from 2 weeks at this site. Positives: It is very clean and has a fantastic pool complex. You can easily walk off the site to the beach, local market, funfair, supermarket, bike hire and other activities. This was great as some evenings there was not entertainment every night, although the kid's disco was great. Lots to do nearby, Apremont is a great day out - a chateau, a river with pedalos and a lovely river beach - fantastic! Staff were very friendly, super kids club for 4 and 8 year olds.
Negatives: Beach is very windy and strong currents. The area is very touristy with lots of tacky shops but not too bad. Gang of British kids hanging around at the playpark until late at night - noisy- avoid accommodation too close to it.
Overall a great site for families with young children.

Our "affair" with this campsite began in 2004 when we were lucky enough to get a pitch without booking (last minute decision to go to France) due to a cancellation they had. Whilst looking round the site to see where our new home would be for the next 9 nights, we were 'accosted' by a group of friendly Brits and French, all mingling together, and left a couple of hours later, a bit worse for wear :o) This is the essence of this site. Nationality does not count here, everyone is in together and all are made to feel welcome. The site is mainly French, English and Dutch, with other nationalities as well. The site itself is kept immaculate and has good facilities. Showers and toilets were always spotless. Restaurant is good (moules Vendeen recommended). Bar is a decent size. Pool area is great - water slides, lazy river and jacuzzi, large outdoor pool, indoor pool as well.
This is one of the very few sites I have been to in France where you can actually go out of the site and get somewhere by walking. Outside there are 2 supermarkets, pub/karaoke bar, night club, restaurants, shops, minigolf and amusements, amongst other things, and the beach is 250 yards over the road and some sand dunes. The cycling is excellent in this area.
We revisited this site last year and have already booked for this year.
Overall, one of the best and friendliest sites I have been on in this area

Just come back from Eurocamp hol here, and apart from weather which was showery and changeable, was very pleased with cleanliness and standard of site.

We have been coming to this campsite for five years. It is by far the best, most friendly site we have ever visited. We now book direct with the site owner, and feel almost to be a member of the extended family of 'Brits' who meet up every year to exchange family news, discuss the most important matters of the past year (rugby, rugby or rugby).
Having settled our differences as to such matters, we always find time to enjoy a few drinks with our French hosts, and tempt them to a game of beach rugby.
Overall, I cannot find fault with any aspect of this site. I started camping when a youngster living in Germany, and have travelled the world. This is a Brit-friendly site and should you be fortunate enough to book a stay here you WILL RETURN!

Excellent clean, well-run site. Very busy in August but it was a very peaceful site. The owner is about all the time on his bike, the shower block is excellent and clean.

When we arrived in Mid August this seaside site had only 2 free pitches, so I would recommend booking if you go in the very height of the season.
The site is dominated by Key Camp and Eurocamp so if you want to get away from Brits and immerse yourself in French life don't come here. However, if you want a beach based holiday with seaside towns to visit in the evening for some Moules Frites then this is a good location. The kids also loved the mini water park which had a good sized swimming pool, baby pool and some slides etc.
The pitches were level on grass/sand and of a reasonable size for our 6 berth tent (or a caravan and awning) with good shading and border hedging / fences between pitches. Electricity and water is available on each pitch. The site itself and facilities were immaculate, with plenty of sinks, showers, dish washing facilities etc which were regularly inspected and cleaned by the hard working staff. There were also baby baths to wash the beach off our kids in the evening.
In all we had a great time helped by superb weather, the only downside was the 450 mile trip back to Calais - I would recommend stopping off at Honfleur for a night to break the journey or going via Caen or Cherbourg.
