Small camping site, with only a few static caravans, so more room for tents and caravans etc. The site is surrounded by a low stone wall, and is on a gentle slope away from the sea wind. It is fairly easy to find: you drive through Tintagel heading for Camelot Hotel (the big Victorian thing). It is between a B&B and a farm, straight after the houses run out.

The weather during our stay was brooding to raining, however we had no problems with our pitch - we were up towards the entrance on the higher ground.

If I recall correctly, there were actually two toilet blocks, one at the entrance, and one at the other end of the park, however I can only comment on the one at the entrance as we were pitched nearer to it.

The showers operate by 20p coin, and give you enough time to wash yourself in, I needed another 20p to wash my hair, but your mileage may vary. Both the showers and the toilets were clean and tidy.

The washing-up area was also clean and tidy, there were two sinks and a large rubbish bin. Also in the washing-up area are brochures and leaflets on local attractions (seemed to encompass the whole of Cornwall, so plenty of information there). The laundry area is next door, but I cannot comment on it, as I did not need to use it. There was a modest playground, but as I recall no indoor play area.

The campsite is right on the doorstep of the township and access route to Tintagel castle. We only stayed here one night but found it adequate for our needs, and very conveniently located.

It was nice to know that the campsite also took dogs as well if kept on leads.

The entrance might put some people off as there is a rickety old sign that could do with replacing but the camp site itself is very nice. The shop stocks a good range of items. Tintagel itself has been slightly spoilt by tourism as some areas are rather scruffy and some hotel/bar staff could be more friendly.

If you're hoping to sunbathe on the beach then Tintagel is probably not for you as the tide seems to stay in for most of the day - however this area is great for walking.

Overall, nice, clean, friendly campsite.

Just returned from the site after a four night break.

Site is clean and adequate and run by friendly people.

Weather was very windy with heavy rain for two nights, which posed a minor problem for one or two motorhomes on the wet grass. Appeared to be very little in the way of hard standing.

Location makes the site a great place to be. Less than a five minute walk and you are in the middle of town for Pubs, Restaurants etc. Ten minutes the other way and you are on the Coastal Path.

Looking to go back in the Spring, again for a short break.

My tent was eaten by a goat.
