This is an excellent site for rest and relaxation, the place is well run and very clean and tidy. The site has clean toilets and wash rooms with hot water, and well maintained pitches. The owners can not do enough to help you, they have a small shop for essentials which is open twice a day. It also has a small children’s play area. The most important thing about this site is the peace and tranquillity of it. The site is located in the middle of the countryside about 400 yards for the Village of UpLyme. It is close enough to Lyme Regis to walk in and there are plenty of buses back.

DO NOT rely on the shop as there is nothing in there, and what there is, is all from Lidl and highly over priced. Showers cost and so do the hairdryers. The worst thing is that Hook Farm’s showers do not have doors only curtains. Me and my family did not feel comfortable showering in the wash rooms. The playground is not actually a playground but 1 tyre hanging from a chain and a few poles to climb up. The river walk? What river walk? In all I was very disappointed by this campsite although it is in a very pretty location.

We have just had a wonderful 2days at this site. Site owners are lovely people and it is beautifully clean, although the showers could be a bit warmer, but this could be just at busy times. The walk to Lyme Regis by the river is stunning. We got the bus back to Uplyme from Lyme Regis (all up hill) the bus drivers are second to none. Hope to go back soon

Hook farm is a wonderful site. Rebecca's comments re shop are correct but who wants a shopping mall. The location is incredibly peaceful and the views amazing. The walk along the river down to Lyme Regis is stunning and provided hours of entertainment for our young children. The playground is not Disney world but given everything else going on there is plenty to keep children entertained. Our children (4 and 2 yrs old) had a fantastic time. Wash room facilities very clean - sure you pay for them but better have the option to not use them than a compulsory additional fee added on to the pitch cost!

We stayed for 4 nights and had a pitch on the top field with wonderful views across the valley. Very peaceful even though the site seemed to be nearly full.

The shower block was clean and we didn’t have to queue at any time. Showers were 20p for 4 minutes but were powerful & hot.

I didn’t notice any problem with taps or hot water supply at the washing up sinks.

The walk down to Lyme is lovely - it took us about 40 minutes with the children (11 & 7).

We would definitely stay here again.

Very scenic and peaceful campsite, however the facilities are very poor. For starters the showers (20p for just over 4 minutes) cannot be relied upon for sufficiently warm water. Washing up facilities are poor and the taps only stay on for a few seconds which proves irritating with the usually cold water. Facility also needs more washing machines. I certainly would not stay here again.

We have just returned from a 10 day stay at Hook Farm and would like to thank Laraine & Adrian for making our stay so enjoyable, they were both very accessible and helpful. The site is fantastically clean and very well maintained. The showers were hot and value for money (5mins for 20p) which is more than enough for a shower. The hot water supply was adequate but at very busy times this could be a problem (but not a major one) and we had no problem during our stay over Easter when the campsite was full. Any problems that arose Adrian dealt with properly and efficiently but to the best of our knowledge these were not major problems. The views were stunning and for those who are into birdwatching (though we are not bird watchers per se) there are probably 20 different species of birds within the local area ranging from snowy egrets through to red kites this must be bird heaven.

We would strongly recommend a visit to this site.

This site is fantastic - I wish I could say it isn't so nobody goes and it remains a gem in England’s camping world. The facilities are lovely & clean, you can have BBQs, many lovely walks around there and right near a pub about a mile walk away. Great people and they love their campsite. DO NOT come here if you want loud music and to annoy people with your anti-social behaviour - you won't last long!!!

We have just come back from Hook Farm. Bearing in mind we have had torrential rain leading up to our stay, it wasn't too bad. The ground was sodden but we pitched our tent. The ground was very stony and we bent a few pegs. We followed Adrian and Laraine's directions and set off for Lyme Regis through the village and along side the river, it was very muddy at times but well worth the walk. We saw plenty of wildlife including a kingfisher and a dipper. I would not recommend this walk after dark, due to lack of lighting, mostly wooded areas. The shower blocks are very clean and tidy, with spacious showers and hot water, didn't mind paying 20p to have a decent shower. We would certainly recommend this campsite and the surrounding areas. Seaton has the trams that take you to Colyton, which is a very pretty village.
