We decided to take a last minute break and after I wish I had not the entertainment was awful with the sound system must have only had one setting of loud. jungle jims was so dark my children couldn’t see where they was going and even though my 12 year old was told she could not go upstairs adults were and I feel that if adults could go up there then my 12 year old should have been allowed to as if I had tried to follow my 3 year old I would have got stuck lol I didn’t feel safe having her run around up there with adults when I couldn’t see from below as it was so dark.
The entertainments guide times were all wrong with it having funtasia closing at 10pm when in fact it should say closed at whatever time they feel like after promising my children they could go play bowling as the entertainment was so bad it was closed at about 7.15pm my 12 year old had £5 she wanted to change and no shop or bar on site would do this for her even though all the change machines were empty we then go to the arcade to let the babies have a go on the small rides and the older kids to have a go on the car games for the power to cut out in the middle of them losing about £5 all in all at this point I had had enough and decide to go see the reception she agreed that the guide did say that it was open till 10pm and she would find out what happened I also told her I had been put in a smoking caravan with pets when I had booked a non smoking non pets one myself and all my kids have asthma and I would never of booked a smoking caravan and that all the path outside was covered in fag ends to be told that if I had booked online even if it said I was booking a non smoking caravan I was not guaranteed that it would be for that I had to book on the phone and pay the extra £10 for the privilege of not breathing in someone else smoke I would have thought it cost more to clean a caravan after someone been smoking in it and pets running around in it there was no room for a travel cot anywhere but the kitchen next to a gas cooker where my 1 year old could have gassed us all in our sleep I was not told this when I phoned to ask if it was ok to bring my own cot and there was no note on the booking form. I was told to come see the regional manager the next day after 9.30 as he was in all weekend I did so to find I had been lied to his PA did give me some complimentary passes for the kids and said he would contact me on my mobile after that it just got worse there rules are so silly I don’t even know how they come up with them the pirate ship in the pool my 12 year old was again told she couldn’t come in even though there were adults in there so again she was being pushed out of family time or we had to go somewhere else in the pool Saturday nights entertainment was so bad I felt like crying and at this point if I had the money I would have packed up and left for Butlins this weekend wasn’t any cheaper than Butlins but we wanted a change I will not make that mistake again with Butlins once your there 90% of things are free the rules make sense and the staff understand that children need their hearing and have a lot of entertainment not repeating the same songs. I’m not a snob I cannot afford to be with 4 children but I feel this park has a lot to do to get up to Butlins standards even the curtains in the bedroom had mould on them and don’t think you can ask the DJ to announce a special celebration you have to pay for that too. This has to be the worst holiday I have ever had with the children and who ever picks the acts needs their hearing tested.

This is probably the best holiday park we have ever been on. All of the staff were welcoming and friendly. We had a week where the weather did nothing but rain and not once were we left without anything to do. The site is huge but you don't feel overcrowded. There is a church on the site which we found extraordinary, 2 amusement arcades with prize bingo, dodgems and bowlingo. The food choices were fantastic you could either upgrade to bed and breakfast or add an evening meal. If you didn't want to do that there was plenty of food on offer, in the restaurant there were grills etc which were expensive but very good quality, a chip shop, a burger bar, a food outlet in the showdome where chicago town pizza, nacho's and rollover hotdogs can be purchased. The adventure golf course was amazing as was the play area and water park. The swimming pool had enough to keep the kids amused and was timed with wrist bands so it never became overcrowded. All in all the most fantastic holiday ever spent.

Fantastic location, beach amazing, caravans well looked after. Entertainment is really tacky though and not worth the money, beer tasted like it was watered down and it was very noisy at night with kids running around caravans well after 11pm. It also seemed to be a mecca for foul mouthed, tattoo covered, football kit wearing chavs, shame really because the location is perfect! Won't be going back!

We have been to Trecco Bay several times with the Sun nine pound fifty offers. It's a great camp catering for everyone. We are sixty plus and take our dog with us, because of this we are sometimes put in very worn caravans, not so at Trecco Bay. We have great walks good nights out and have experienced none of the problems some other people are getting.

Myself, Girlfriend 3 year old son and my girfriend's parents visited Trecco Bay and found the site to be excellent. The caravan was clean and there were no problems. The facilities were excellent, aerial views of the site on Multimap, Google Earth etc are quite out of date. There is far much more on the site now. The beach is only 5 minutes walk away, and an evening walk around the site, next to the beach is very relaxing. The entertainment was good, and there is plenty to do for the kids. The pool is excellent. I would even consider buying a caravan on this site, so that we could return more often. I will definitely be returning.

Our fifth time at Trecco and it gets better and better. We treated ourselves to one of the top of the range caravans this year, and boy did we do the right thing. Absolutely immaculate inside and out.
I can highly recommend the entertainment; the cabaret is brilliant. In a day and age when variety shows are becoming rarer it was wonderful to have such variety and top class entertainment, all within waking distance of the 'van.
My tip: go for the Luxury caravan. It might cost a bit more but it really makes for a special holiday.

We had a really good time. We will definitely be going back this year. It was fabulous! The caravan was very comfortable and well equipped. The beach was very clean.
Facilities were near by for everything you needed. The night time entertainment was excellent and there was plenty to do for our 8 year old granddaughter, who really enjoyed herself. Caravan had lots of safety items and plenty of parking spaces. Cafes were clean.

Well I looked at this review page for Trecco Bay before I actually arrived there, and to say I was concerned was an understatement. However on arrival at the park my concerns were soon at the back of my mind. The caravan we were allocated was immaculate and new this year, considering we took our pet dog and thought we would be given an old caravan, the cleanliness was superb and within an hour of being in the caravan a representative of the site was there to see everything was fine and if we had any concerns, (Which we had not).
The shop was very well stocked and we did use the Fish & Chip takeaway, which was very nice!! The overall site was clean, staff were helpful & friendly and I will definitely be going back there in the near future, so to any people thinking or have booked to go to Trecco Bay, you will not be disappointed.

My family and I have stayed at Trecco bay fourteen times during the past six years. Overall the park is good value for money, if you book outside of August, when the park is well overpriced. The condition of the caravans are on the whole are good, although it can be hit and miss if you get a well kept one, or, you get one with holes in the walls, door hinges hanging, stained carpets or curried unwashed plates in the cupboards. When we visited the park last October for a short break at half term we were unfortunate to have a caravan where the heating had broken down, the onsite plumber was not happy about leaving his warm office, after a short while in our cold caravan he muttered "its broken, and that's that". The park was fully booked, so we spent the rest of the holiday with the oven door open. We have been back twice since, so on the whole the park as many good qualities about it, sometimes though, I look at one or two people who work there and think to myself "I wouldn't want to spill their pint".

Dirty, disgusting caravan, found maggot in bedding that was given to us by Housekeeping. Human hair and dust in every corner of caravan. Bedroom windows that would not close properly, leaving a draught at all times. Ripped seating and a stool that was a dangerous hazard. Mould growing on net curtains. The list goes on and on and on.
Bought as an extra to the holiday Entertainment Passes which we were lead to believe were a must have, but were in actual fact a complete waste of money. All the entertainment we had to pay for except the swimming pool.
My family will not be using PARKDEAN HOLIDAYS again and I doubt we will visit Trecco Bay.
The Brookwood caravan we stayed in is only fit for animals ! It was that bad.
Sorry to say but Parkdean you really are the pits.

I went to this holiday park in 2006 it was gorgeous, the caravan was immaculate. The service was superb, the entertainment was the best I've seen in a long while. The people who say it was dirty and dangerous must have stumbled into the wrong caravan park.

We stayed at Trecco Bay for October half term 2005, and had a fantastic, cheap holiday. The beaches are lovely, the entertainment great for my 7,5 and 1yr olds, and even kept my 71yr old nan amused! Having just returned from a haven holiday (aug2006), I will say that Trecco Bay was just as good, at half of the price! If you like a good family orientated holiday, then it's the place for you. We will definitely go back again.

All I can say is "good luck" to the person who stole my husband's trainers from underneath our caravan. If you'll nick them you'll nick anything.
And to the site owners... the burnt out caravans to one end of the site looked really classy. Well done, you must be really proud.

We stayed here for a week in August and enjoyed every minute of it! There was always plenty to see and do. The site itself was very clean and well maintained.
The large Show Dome offered some great entertainment every night. Or for a more quiet and relaxed night out, there was the Conservatory Bar.
Our caravan was only a short distance from the beach, which offered a nice walk along the beach path. The beach itself was again, very clean and a life guard patrolled it during the day.
There were also plenty of shops and we never struggled to eat out either. The shops themselves are all situated together and offered everything. It was quite nice walking around the gift shops, etc.
The overall service was excellent too. Friendly, helpful staff and our caravan was very clean and spacious with plenty of parking.

Stayed here for a week in June 2005 & found it to be an excellent camp, everything nice & tidy, great beach within short walk & local town with all amenities in short walking distance (may be a bit far for the elderly). Stayed in one of the Parkdean Caravans that was very clean & well equipped, (if a little cramped on floor space in the bedrooms). Found the proper restraints on site to be of very good quality but was disappointed at the chippy & curry house take-aways.
Thought the evening entertainment was FANTASTIC (maybe because it was very child orientated & my two girls of 3 & 6 loved it)
Would DEFINITELY go again.

As someone who visits 5 or 6 holiday parks each year with their family, we found Trecco Bay to be an absolute delight, and so loved every minute there, that we booked another week. My sister (16) and myself (17) both went to the teenage activity club on the every day, and thoroughly enjoyed all the entertainment and activities. My younger brother loved all the games and adventures going on at Maxi Million's kids club, and the family entertainment venue was roomy, comfortable and clean. All the staff were friendly, and their shows were impressive and entertaining.
We found the grocery store and gift shops to have a variety of stock and to be reasonably priced. Our rented caravan was comfy and clean and generally nice. We had no complaints and will be returning this summer.

Have only visited the campsite, but living in Cardiff, I can say that people joke about staying in Trecco Bay. The attempted theft and break-in sounds about right for that place. I wouldn't even stay there for a dare!

We visited this site (2 adults, 2 girls 10 & 8) in May 2002 - our first English caravanning holiday. Although the caravan was clean and in a relatively quiet part of this 2000+ site, the furnishings were very tired. We did not enjoy the site and used it merely as a base for travelling around the area. The entertainment complex was dirty and full of the previous evenings chip papers. The shop was poorly stocked and the shop assistant was staggered by the fact that we were trying to by a broadsheet paper. Chip shop poor and very expensive. Beach was close and fairly pleasant although there are no facilities eg snack shop or toilets.
Someone tried to steal bikes from the roof of our car overnight, and on another occasion we arrived home to find a young boy trying to pick the lock to our caravan.
No seating outside for the rented vans and the parking area was on the opposite side to the door, which made unpacking/repacking more difficult than it should have been. Saving grace was the extremely clean and well-run swimming pool, and the staff who were very prompt at sorting out an electrical fault with our van. No we wont be going back.
[Note from Webmaster: you only have to look at the aerial photo on MultiMap to see what sort of a site it is. Not my scene, but it might be yours!]
