Penstowe is a manor with lodges dotted around it, set in a nice site with rhododendrons etc. Camping fields well laid out, level pitches and clean modern facilities a well cleaned and maintained block. Local to the site is the village of Kilkhampton Best way to get to it is via the internal road system of the manor. Bude is only up the road 4 to 5 miles. The lake is a turn off the road going through Kilkhampton. Water sports available there. Had good food at the West Country inn just in Devon on A39. Went to the Milky Way park - very good even for us slightly older ones (ie late thirties early forties). Did not read the info very well so did not know that each of us had to pay £2 each a day to access pool and club house. But I’ve got to say the entertainments team worked hard and strove to do their best. Can’t ask any more than that. Summing up: if you want a steady type of holiday relaxing this is it. Worried me that there were only 3 shower cubicles but this was ok as lots of caravans had their own. Well nice part of the county, nice club, prices I thought were plenty enough but heh I am careful. We were in a tent but the super pitches next door to us looked good: water, electric, drain, TV connection.
