This review is rather old. Treat it with care.

Maybe we were spoiled by our previous week’s stay on another site, but when we arrived, we felt like turning tail and leaving, but we were booked for a week, so we stayed put.

We thought that the pitches were too close together, and felt very claustrophobic. the toilets and showers I agree were kept very clean, but i always felt stared at, like an intruder in the ladies. Altogether, not a very enjoyable week, and we won’t be returning.

Carnevas Farm is a lovely site with both caravans and tents. They also have a couple of cottages to rent and some static caravans.

Owners are really sweet and helpful. The toilets, showers and washing up areas are excellent and are regularly cleaned. Good atmosphere, with a good mixture of space and quiet to the Friday and Saturday night clubhouse entertainment.

Campsite is a stone's throw away from Porthcothan Bay, but is 10 mins away from the 7 Bays For 7 Days - plenty of surfing and walks to choose from.

An all round good site - and not too expensive!

This brilliant campsite is just perfect. It is only 10 minutes walk from Porthcothen Bay and a couple of miles from Padstow, Although it is a long travel for me to get there it is well worth it. The campsite is brilliant with a shop, pub, information point, park and hot showers plus a washing up room. I will definitely come back again. I would give this campsite 5 out of 5, it is just fantastic!!

Carnevas is an excellent family site. The owners are really helpful and kind, and the staff are always happy to help. The site is ideal for all the local beaches and towns. The Jolly Roger pub is great for meals and entertainment during the season.

A campsite not to miss, well worth a visit, and you will go back as we will.

This campsite was a real find. We'd arrived in cornwall quite late in the day and our original choice had turned us away (my husband and my brother constituted a group not a family apparently). The owner came out from her home, agreed a price with us and told us to pay her in the morning as it was getting dark and we would need to pitch quickly.

The showers were free and wonderfully hot, the site was quiet (we were out of season) and the pub was the icing on the cake!

We would definitely go back again. Top marks to them for service and a lovely campsite.

My parents have been camping at the park for many years on and off and have really enjoyed their stay. They introduced it to me about two years ago and I really enjoyed myself, and ever since then I have wanted to go back, in a couple of weeks we will be going in peak season and it was hard for them to book a place, because it is so popular! I love the atmosphere there it is very peaceful and only minutes away from the beaches which are also brilliant on a sunny day.

We have been to Carnevas for the last couple of years and are going again next week. We actually stay in the chalets provided on site and they are really nice with all home comforts. The owners are extremely friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them and are always very helpful.

Newquay is only half an hours drive away, taking the coastal route which is superb! The site is always clean and the tourists are friendly. I would recommend the site to anyone.

Just been to Carnevas, camping with family (including 18 month old daughter), the facilities were excellent, everything you could need, especially with a tot. The people running the site were friendly and really helpful. Location is great, only a stone throw away from lovely beaches and spectacular coastline. Loved it. We almost never return to the same place twice, however I expect we will be returning to Carnevas.

My family and I have been to the Carnevas campsite for the last two years.

During our last stay we met people on the campsite who have been staying there for ten, twenty, and even thirty years.

The owners are very friendly, and nothing is too much trouble.

The toilets are kept spotlessly clean, and the showers are always the right temperature.

The site has a shop, pub/restaurant and the food is very good value for money.

If you have children, they will love this site because of its brilliant play park, football pitch and games room.

One day I’ll be one of those people who have been going for twenty or thirty years.

I would recommend the Carnevas to anyone.

Anyone who writes a bad review about Carnevas campsite must be a very sad person and the hardest of people to please. This site has the balance just right, it has large clean modern toilet facilities, a club house with a bar and meals can be ordered until nine at night at reasonable prices. I have been going to this site for ten years now and find that the family that owns and runs the site are nice pleasant people, we return year after year from Essex with our caravan in tow, so there must be something good about this venue, to make us undertake this journey.

Carnevas is a brilliant campsite. We stay in the luxury Static Caravans which are...well luxurious. Every year we marvel how they improve the facilities again and again.

Great location near beautiful beaches, great atmosphere very friendly staff, safe environment very clean, great facilities. Forget flying abroad, save the planet and have a brilliant brilliant time.

We visited Carnevas for the first time in 2007 and are going back this year. Cannot praise the site enough, the staff were friendly and helpful, the toilets and shower blocks are modern and kept in pristine condition. They have a room for washing up, a room dedicated to hairdrying (note free hairdryers and straighteners) and a launderette with free irons. Although pets are allowed the site is immaculate and the situation and surrounding areas compare easily with anything we've seen on our travels around Europe - Thoroughly recommended!!

Hi all

Just come back from my holidays at Carnevas for the 7th time.

(the kids have already arranged to go back next year). Carnevas is a family run site and on arrival that is apparent with the welcome you get from everyone. The site provides for everyone including dogs (YES THEY ARE ALLOWED). It has a washroom, launderette, baby bathrooms, hairdrying room (with straighteners) hot running showers all of which are cleaned at least 3 times a day. There is also a shop, not expensive like most campsite shops, open twice a day, and the JOLLY ROGER CLUB HOUSE in which there is regular entertainment provided. In the club house you can also get lovely home cooked food every evening, which is also INEXPENSIVE. Your pitch site is not measured so there is always plenty of room no matter how big your tent is. Also there are holiday cottages and static caravans and a few chalets, in which you can holiday if you feel you cannot brave a canvas. The grounds are well maintained with regular grass cutting and the flowerbeds are always kept neat so there's a lovely array of colour in the summer months. Around the site there are several little bays and Porthcothan beach is only a couple minutes walk away. There are also several great cliff walks. The site is 9 miles from Newquay and 5 miles from Padstow.

A big thank you to Caroline, Louise and family, also to all staff for another great stay.

Finally congratulations to Claire on joining the navy.

Owners and staff helpful and friendly.

Showers/toilet kept clean.

Close to beaches, south west coast path and bus stop.

Club house good selection of beer and food.

Owners and staff were so good they even opened an hour early so as we could watch a rugby international!

This was our first stay at this site but we will be returning next year.

A great family site: very clean site: staff willing to help and good facilities with family bath room, which were a godsend with a 2 & 3 year old in tow!! Close to a great beach and close to Padstow and Newquay if you need, or as a point to visit other areas of this beautiful county. We will certainly be returning in the summer.
