For years - to be exact 22!! - we’ve been going to this campsite. My dad has rented out caravans hear for a while. That’s why I can tell you that the person in the previous review simply wants to have something to complain.

Meanwhile we have a house in wonderful south of France for a few years now, but that doesn’t hold me back from visiting cosy "Holiday Green". For a starter the swimming pool: what kind of silly rule that you can’t wear shorts? As if a regular swimsuit is cleaner. The disco is well organised. Yes, security is tight but it is after all a disco, which means that people have to behave and there are age boundaries. Small problems will always occur with people from different countries and different thoughts.

A campsite that does not deliver on its promises, with a detestable atmosphere, and many problems. No entertainment at the disco, except for the continuous brawls due to a security service made up of non-professionals, and to the youth of the district who come into the site. It’s an atmosphere worthy of certain suburbs.

At the pool, shorts and inflatables are permitted. The entry controls are ineffective, and many people went in with their shoes. And as the site permits animals, and the paths suffer from the products of animals...

In short, a campsite beyond price for the services provided.

In my case, after two days the two kids club organisers no longer wanted to accept my 4-year-old son!

For so-called professional entertainers, two hours in the morning is too much for them!

Its a shame, as I would have liked to renew my acquaintance with some of the 62 people present in the week of 15 August 2004, but at the price for the week, it's hard to benefit from the sports activities, when they won't take the children away!

This campsite is brill: the activity leaders gave us a really warm welcome, and there are magnificent dance spectacles to see. The prices are not excessive for the quality of service. I promise I'll be back!!

Congratulations to the whole team at this brilliant club village!

The new mobile homes, with air-con and TV are brilliant!

Super atmosphere!

I intend to come back in 2006!

It’s just great, this campsite, I just can’t give it up!

Every year, new friends, new good times, with magnificent entertainment (thanks to Cristelle, of course).

There is good security, and a good atmosphere amongst the youth. So quite simply, I cannot wait to get back there and to see the activity leaders again, and join in the entertainment.

See you soon!

We return very disappointed from our week at the Holiday Green campsite. We were victims of a break-in in our mobile home, as were other people, the same evening! Was security doing its job properly? Or are they just acting the part, and reassuring the residents? Certain young people were hanging around who certainly did not figure on the list of guests. In any case, the director of the campsite didn’t want to listen, because his insurance did not cover break-ins in the mobile homes! The four stars do not seem justified, certainly the Californian pool and the activities are a bonus, but when you look a bit closer, under the decoration, the cleanliness is very limited, but the most serious is that the safety of the electrical installations is deplorable (see photos). For the only campsite in France that does publicity based on its environmental quality charter, it’s a bit contradictory! One thing is certain; the price is very high for the services offered and the welcome of the director. We don’t recommend this campsite, and will not go there again.

From disillusioned and despoiled campers!

Response from the management of the campsite:

I would just like to respond to the review by M Chanut, who was indeed the victim of a theft, but we would not call it a break-in, as his windows were open.

This gentleman does not seem to know well the world of camping and caravanning, and, though we understand his dismay after the theft, I find his severe criticisms unjustified.

As for the price, I would remind him that he booked by way of his Works Council, and paid only 50% of the normal fees.

I invite all surfers reading this site to come and find out for themselves, and I can assure you that we are exactly opposite to what has been written.

As proof, the "Oscar Qualité du Tourisme" which has been awarded this last year, as well as the European eco-label "Clef Verte", that we have received for the last 4 years.

Loved the site, the pool, the location, the people, that we have been to Holiday Green in 2004 2005 & 2006. Plus thanks for keeping in touch with the likes of Chris the Karaoke DJ and Kevin at NSS Riviera holidays. We hope to be back at Holiday Green in the not too distant future as owners of our very own mobile home.

I’ve been coming here 15 years, and not a single problem has surfaced!

A very dedicated activity team, with very interesting activities on offer, with a very good atmosphere. Much improved security since several years ago. Nothing to complain about, a perfect campsite that deserves the articles in magazines and the reports on the TV.

On that note, well done to all the activity leaders, to the reception team, and to the service staff, whether in the restaurant or the bar.

Until next year!

A campsite completely up to the mark with the service expected by lovers of this type of holiday, even if the tariffs would lead you to expect a bit more "class". On the other hand, a big black mark is the supposed security service! Composed of individuals apparently drawn from the local delinquents, here’s a "law and order" service that only provokes disorder! What’s more, when you notice that the management covers up the repeated failings of these rowdies, supposedly responsible for security, you have to ask yourself, WHY?

- Is it through concern for money? It’s clear that such a workforce cannot cost much!

- Is it a strategy for avoiding visits from the louts of the area, hoping they’ll exercise their talents in other campsites, not guarded by their mates? That said, it’s very common to encounter, especially at night, an intriguing population, clearly nothing to do with campers.

All this is very disappointing, not only contrary to the tariffs charged, but also contrary to the "paradise" promoted in the press.

Brilliant campsite, with a giant pool, however in view of the number of people there in August we thought we’d be crowded like sardines, but no there was room for everyone, as loads of activities are on offer by brilliant leaders, and a good welcome! For we parents of triplets, the club was very welcome, as were the brilliant activity leaders, who gave us a bit of freedom! Our first experience of camping, and very happy with it; we’re thinking of coming back in 2007, as the area is magnificent and the walks are numerous and varied, and we haven’t done everything! For the campsite itself, they also give preferential rates for Marineland, Aqualand, the Molinard perfumery, and with bus stops right opposite, who can ask for more! Well done to those who provide our holidays, as it is not easy to please everyone! Long live Holiday Green.

My family and I have just returned from Holiday Green with another family we went with. The vans we had were privately rented and for the money were very good value, as was the holiday as a whole, some of the aspects of the site could be improved upon. I have a 7 year old and 10 year old who were keen to participate at the kidz club however communication was poor as the kidz club leader spoke barely any English, to ensure a place you had to queue on the day at least 30mins early otherwise the French children pushed in front. The minimal entertainment was all in French which included a travelling circus whose animals appeared neglected. The pool was clean but the area around for sunbathing did not appear to have been cleaned of debris from the previous days. No smoking was permitted around the pool which was good however directly outside the entrance there was lots of cigarette butts (outside of our friends’ van) where everybody stood for a smoke. rate 7 out of 10.

I would just like to say that my family went to Holiday Green in April 2007 and I can tell you that Holiday Green have now put in a new pool outside and also there is now an indoor one as well with a slide and two Jacuzzis. It is now fabulous there; much better then before. Also new showers and toilets near the pool.

Snack area has now fully being refurbished, and there are many new mobile homes going on the site.

We have owned a mobile on this site now for 15 years, it is in the midst of having a face lift, which is looking great. We are having to change our mobile home in September for a new 3 bedroomed one, as ours is approx 20+ years old. But we agree that all this improves the site.

Please don’t stop coming to Holiday Green its great, also with Canvas holidays now on site, it makes for better competition in our rental prices.

Give us a call if you'd like our info.

My family and i have just returned back from Holiday Green after a fantastic 2 weeks. We have been going to Holiday Green for the last 3 years, sometimes more than once a year. I have 2 children 15 and 7 and they absolutely love it and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Well, being a parent that makes a holiday worthwhile knowing that the children love it so much. They are entertained morning, afternoon and night as well as parents. We couldn’t believe our eyes when we went July 2007 a new indoor pool as well as a massive pool outside, a spiral slide, 2 jacuzzis, also everywhere surrounding the pool area refurbished. I would just like to say well done Holiday Green.

Hello

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday at Holiday Green,Frejus.

We booked a mobile home privately from Sam and Mandy Williams and it was brilliant, they have a huge area that their mobile home is on and the actual mobile home is immaculate inside and out. They are in the process of having a new one, as they have all the information about this in their info brochure at the mobile itself. We would most definitely be booking with them for next year, they have brilliant managers in Kevin and Paula Bunn of NSS RIVIERA HOLIDAYS, who are so considerate, helpful and on the whole lovely people. So if you are thinking of going either book direct with Sam and Mandy or contact NSS. Holiday Green is a great place for all the family.

I have just returned from Holiday Green, and I have to say that the camp has had a good make over, with new pool areas and snack bars, new Jacuzzis and an indoor pool with water chute for more fun, the site itself is in the process of having a lot of new mobiles put on it.

All areas have got new furniture (bars & snack areas) and the face lift is still ongoing.

All in all, a great place to take the family.

Excellent site, Clean and well kept. Entertainment was very good for children and teenagers. The pool area was fabulous however I was a little shocked at the cost of sunbed rental 10 euro a day for 2 sunbeds and a parasol. I like most people just bought a lilo.

Excellent weather while we were there unlike Britain which seemed to be sinking fast while we were away.

I rented a private van from Jean Carlisle and was very happy with the quality and content of the van. Thanks Jean, it was great

Have been coming to HG now for 3 years and always enjoy our stay here. We have our own mobile on site (Piaf by name) with all the relevant mod cons and use the excellent management team of NSS Riviera Holidays to run our home between lets. They'll certainly try to help you out regardless of your predicament. Our car broke down on our recent vacation, I was RAC covered, they failed to deal with my problem in time for our return to the UK, and thanks to NSS (Darren) they stepped in to repair our vehicle and get us on our way. Brilliant!!!

As for the site itself we all really think it's good and the children love it. The location is beautifully set in pine woodland and surrounding places to visit fantastic. All in all a highly recommended visit.

Contact NSS Riviera Holidays for more info of this holiday site.

Remember that people are always more prepared to write and complain than they are to praise good service.

Having lived on Holiday Green for the last 20 years it looks to me that all the comments that praise the site are from family members or persons who own and rent out mobiles.

Your column is being used as a free advert for these people. As such it is a waste of time. Holiday Green only care about the French. There is no proper security, only surly local unemployed! The gates are closed to anyone who is not French at 2300 hours. If you are French you can drive around the site at 0100 hours.

Very good entertainment in the evenings for adults and children, but not as much for teenagers, although they were happy enough to wander round the campsite getting drunk.

Pools very good and clean, food and drinks good.

Security men a bit odd, not sure if they have any real rules of order. Been to holiday twice, going again this year, and have made many good friends. Some parts could be cleaner but not that big a deal. Beach and local places eg Aqualand great. Security is not too good, managers don’t seem to give a stuff about it, my friends’ phones got nicked from their bags whilst they were in the pool and it had happened to many other people too, when we went to managers about it they looked at security videos but said they couldn’t do anything, roughly 400 quids worth of phones were lost.

Overall good holiday though.

I have been going to Holiday Green now for the past four years this is when my husband and I brought a van which has to be changed this year. The kids love it there and have made loads of new friends who they see every year we go there twice a year in April for two weeks and right through the school six weeks summer holidays which the kids think is great. When we arrived this April the girls could not wait to get in the new indoor pool even though it was freezing as it had just been filled and was not at its temp. We all thought that the changes made a big difference. We also have made many friends the two that come to mind is Rita and Peter Davis who own regency holidays they are always there to help you so if you want a good priced holiday get in touch with them and tell them Julie sent you regencyholidays@hotmail.co.uk hope to see you all there 2008.
