Remember that people are always more prepared to write and complain than they are to praise good service.

I spent 15 days with my husband and 2 children at this campsite, and I was very disappointed.

In each week, there were about 3 good days.

The activities and competitions are rubbish. There is no explanatory list.

As for the mini-disco, it's not brilliant. My daughter only went once.

The activity leaders are too superficial, don't approach people, and when you pass them, they don't even say hello! It's a disgrace.

As for the pool, it is forbidden to bathe in trunks and shorts (says the sign at the entrance) but lots of people do.

As for safety, not good at all. Not even a lifeguard.

As for evenings, you take your place to see the entertainment, but you have to eat or drink (and the drinks start at €3).

In total, I spent €3600 for 15 days, and it really wasn't great.

I'll not be setting foot in here again.

We’ve just returned from the Méditerranées, where we spent the weekend, and we were very very disappointed. Very poorly signposted in the town, arrived at reception and were very poorly received, we hardly even got any explanation of where our bungalow was (I think we annoyed the receptionist by speaking politely). When we asked when we had to leave on the Sunday, we were told we would have to leave in the morning, as they had no cleaners in the afternoon, but when we paid for an extra day, they miraculously found the cleaners. We had to pay a supplement for an extra car, though there was nowhere to put it. We are accustomed to staying with Yelloh Village, and we’re used to better service. I strongly recommend against this campsite, with it’s crap welcome, and its generally mediocre cleanliness.

We have just returned from two weeks at this campsite and overall had a great holiday with fantastic weather. We took our own caravan and stayed on the quieter Charlemagne side of the site although in hindsight we would probably have preferred to stay on the Nouvelle Floride side where there seemed to be more independent campers rather than statics. It was also nearer the entertainment and the fabulous beach. Both pools were very nice and well supervised with good slides. The bar was expensive and the red wine was virtually undrinkable but the evening entertainment was mainly of a good standard. The kids enjoyed playing football every night and the tournaments that were organised. We found very few British independent campers although there were quite a few in the Keycamp annex where our friends stayed. This annex was only accessible from the main site during the day and was extremely noisy at night and into the early hours. The area immediately round the site can only be described as tacky and whenever we tried to visit other places in the area we came across massive traffic jams. Marseillan old town was more attractive and there were some lovely restaurants at the port. I would recommend Aqualand and also the boat ride around the waterways of Cap d'Agde but didn't think the overall area was very attractive and probably wouldn't choose to visit again.

Hello, we spent 10 days at the Floride in September 2008. Excellent stay, we're booking for the same period in 2009. Beach, pool, activities, shops a stone's throw away, no need for the car, nothing lacking. Charming staff. As for foreigners, no problem, lots of Germans but very friendly. Do not hesitate to visit here! Have a good holiday everyone!

We've just returned from a stay here in the Nouvelle Floride part, and being customers of Yelloh, we were disappointed by the quality, given the price, €900 per week in a mobile home. All of the services on site were exorbitant, and we were treated suckers made of money! I'll not be returning, and I do not recommend it. On the other hand, the Yelloh village of Serignan Plage is very pleasant, brilliant staff, and not crammed in.

I have just got back from Les Mediterranees and had a great time! The night time entertainment was fantastic and appealed to both children and adults. They had a different show every night which were very enjoyable. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The town is on the doorstep of the campsite and has many restaurants and little shops and the beach is right next to the campsite as well, just across a road. The long sandy beach was never too busy and I spent a lot of time there swimming in the sea, building sandcastles, sunbathing etc. There are pools in both parts of the campsite. The first one is excellent with baby pool, big pool, slide pool and has two slides; one is a smaller one for younger children and the other a higher slide for the older ones. There was always room for us to sit around the pool on sunbeds as well. We stayed in a chalet which had one large bedroom with double bed, one medium bedroom with two single beds and a smaller bedroom with bunk beds. I found the beds very comfortable. The chalet also included a kitchen with oven, sink and cupboards, a sofa and table which also pulled out into another bed and bathroom with a shower which had warm water. The campsite also has other activities such as the children's playground, tennis tables etc. The food was lovely with a variety to choose from. The only problem I had with the campsite was that some of the communal showers were cold and the toilets weren't always kept clean. However this wasn't that big a problem as we had a warm shower and clean toilet in our mobile home.

Overall I extremely enjoyed the holiday and would definitely go again next year!

We visited the campsite July 2008. I can't believe nobody has mentioned the noise. The road which splits the 2 sites is very busy with vehicles and extremely noisy pedestrians. We were unable to sleep until the early hours of the morning, only to be woken before 6 by the flashing light and noise of the bins being emptied. Mobile homes rented by eurocamp, keycamp and thompson alfresco are sited by the road (we paid nearly £1000 for week!). We decided to watch the entertainment instead of listening to it through the caravan walls!, but it was boring, and unsuitable for family viewing (women in underware miming to music). The pool looked good, but was freezing, even for my 9 yr old who will swim in the north sea!!. The surrounding area is tacky Pizza, chicken & chips!! The only good thing was the factastic beach.

We are just back from a week at a campsite here with Eurocamp. The camp was split into two sections and we were in the quieter section, Charlemagne. We were near the entrance so it could be quite noisy. We are middle-aged and were with our 14 year old daughter who is shy and did not want to go to any of the pools etc. The beach was just across a little lane. Very hot weather so always crowded but nice. Marina along from it was lovely. Caravan was great but site felt crowded and not very relaxing compared to another Eurocamp site in Spain we stayed on. Marseillan Plage very tacky near campsite - like a showground. Further out was nice though. Lots to see and do round about. We went to an aquarium at Montpellier and on a trip through Pyrenees to see Andorra. Mainly non-British families often with small children. Security tight on campsite.

Lovely campsite, right on the beach, and near to the town centre. Rented a 4-person static caravan, type Nouvelle Floride, through Yelloh. General impression of the campsite: clean, plenty of entertainment, good play areas for the kids, very beautiful heated swimming pool. Yes, the pool is busy, but in my experience, this is true everywhere. However, the pitches for the static caravans are a bit small. We had a lovely holiday, and we want to return here.

I returned to the "Mediterannees" at the end of April, and this period is ideal for holidays without stress, but still very active! I'm happy with this campsite, I found there a comfortable mobile home (well designed, adequately equipped) a warm welcome, the most trivial problems sorted out in 5 minutes, and I always got responses with a smile (and very good memories of the manager of the little casino! Thank you!). My children were delighted to be beside the beach (always clean) and relaxing on the sunbeds around the pool, with the atmosphere of coconut palms. The activities the previous year had worked really well (costume spectacles, dances, dynamic club atmosphere): this year, a bit disappointing, as there were fewer foreigners, less money, poorer atmosphere (the french do not applaud spontaneously, more's the pity!). But I'll return with pleasure!

I've spent the last 4 years holidays at the Méditerranées, and we are delighted with it. My children (11, 9 and 6) find this campsite magnificent, and they demand every year to go back there. We have still not persuaded our daughter to try elsewhere. The activities were better in the early years, but not bad even recently. As for different nationalities, that doesn't bother me, on the contrary we have got to know some Belgians, and we've kept in contact for 3 years. For us, camping holidays are a way of broadening horizons, and to make friends. Now those who want calm can just stay at home, or go to a hotel, and as for different nationalities, well what do they want? A site reserved for the French?

The campsite is divided in two parts: Charlemagne and Nouvelle Floride. Both parts have a large pool. Nouvelle Floride provides all the entertainment and animation. There is a mini club and evening animation. It starts with a mini disco, mostly followed by another program. Like a piano bar for example. Once a week, the mini club puts on a show.

It is a very busy campground, but that's like all Yelloh! campgrounds. The pools have slides and a kiddy pool. Pools are very busy, but there's always a spot for your towel.

The beach is also close by. Nouvelle Floride is directly next to the beach, and from Charlemagne you only have to cross a road through a small straat. We were in at the far end of Charlemagne. Approx. 800 meters walk.

Service was good. We had an empty gas container and missed some of the things in our inventory. We received the missing items the same day and also the gas container was replaced the same day.

Also safety on the campsite was good. Every night there was someone of security to check on things. He made sure it was quit after 11 pm. He stayed all night to make sure everything was ok. Because everybody had a wristband with Yelloh! on it, he could see if somebody was allowed on the campsite.

While staying on the campsite, I was 17 and had a great time. There were enough other kids of the same age and nationality. Of course there were other nationalities, but that's logical, when your on holiday in a different country. The village of Marseillan Plage was very nice. Lots of shops and lovely cafés. Also Parc d'Attractions was nice. Situated at about 2 miles from the campsite, you could walk the distance. Would recommend this campsite to anybody that likes a bit of livelihood and doesn't mind busy shopping streets.

This campsite was great, completely child friendly as it has 2 good swimming pools with 3 waterslides (which any age child would like). It had good quality table tennis tables and an exciting playground. The shop sold practically everything you would need and the onsite restaurants were good. The shows were good at night and the beach -which was just 2 mins away- was really sandy.

The chalet we stayed in was impressive, as I didn't expect the air con to work so well.

My overall rating 9/10

I'd definitely go again!!!!!!!!!!!!

I visited this campsite in 2006 and thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

We stayed with Keycamp for over 3 weeks in the quieter Charlmagne but enjoyed entertainment in Nouvelle part.

Best parts the fabulous beach, glorious weather, roomy mobile home and early season peace and relaxation, the "tacky" resort town was perfect for my 13 year old daughter to buy cheap goods and cycle to the local Spar. My older daughter went to a local disco bar. Marseillan Ville was nicer and more sophisticated. The beach area was unspoilt and in some ways undeveloped compared to the Cote D Azur.

The Catalan people are less sophisticated and a little rough around the edges compared to people in other areas of France.

Our pitch was a bit of a shock as the mobile home divided our pitch in two but we parked our car on one side and relaxed on the other, a little cramped but cosy enough. However it did seem strange that an early booking got this pitch. The surrounding pitches were much more spacious.

The pools were fine and the beach alternative really made the holiday complete.

The biggest aggravation for us was a woman from Limerick, Ireland, who was intrusive and touchy, not the site’s fault but I have stayed away from Irish people since, its much better to enjoy a holiday without somebody from back home harassing or moaning!!!! She was a professional complainer who had to be moved from one site to another and then looked for a deduction. All other nationalities seem to be able to allow people space and yet be friendly.

A negative was some of the noise and screeching brakes on the dividing road, I needed to check that my teenagers were home safely.

However there are many interesting towns and markets to visit. Wine tends to come from cooperatives, less labelling and you can fill up cheaply locally.

Overall the area is less developed and less sophisticated than Provence but the weather is just as good and the beach was truly unspoilt and beautiful.

I went to the Yelloh-Méditerannée in May 2006, and I was delighted. The mobile home was almost new, and very clean. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was immaculate. The beach is really close; a large, beautiful beach of white sand. We used the take-away, which was good, and not too dear. The only thing we did not like was outside the campsite: Marseillan Plage, a village full of fairground people, gypsies, etc. Shops were not very clean. But while you're on the campsite, no problem.

More than a campsite, this is more a factory for tourists. Very few French, dirty pitches, poorly shaded, and very small. The toilet blocks are too few, and dirty. It could drive you to drink. It is very impersonal, and very expensive.

This part of the coast is over-developed and badly maintained.

Everything is directed towards mass tourism, and the area no longer has any charm.

Have been to this site twice and going again this year. It is a busy site but split into two halves- one quieter and one livelier with entertainment. Its position on the beach gives an alternative if pools are busy. In summer this part of France is where the French go. The reception has a number of multi-lingual staff and on the occasions we needed anything we found them very good. A light bulb was replaced within 30 minutes and some trim that had come unstuck repaired almost immediately. We met French, German, Dutch and Swedes, surely one of the reasons you go abroad. It is hardly surprising that their children go to the Children's clubs. The area around the evening entertainment is very busy as in our experience it is at all campsites. The standard of entertainment was generally good but the close proximity of the town gives plenty of alternatives if not to your liking.

We went to this site over the May Bank holiday week, and first week of June 2004. The first week it was quite busy, but quietened down when a lot of the children had gone back to school. This site is the most cramped one we have ever stayed at. It is also huge. Because we went early in the season, we didn't find the pool area busy, and always got a sunbed. The evening entertainment was very well thought out. An hour for the children, where they can get on the stage and dance with on-site children's entertainers. Then a show - different each night. (Disney style show, magic, solo-singers, bands).

We have in the past picked quieter sites, but as our children are getting older, we thought we would go for one with 'entertainment'. Our daughter (9) loved the dancing and shows, our son (11) went into the bar and watched the large screen tv or found someone to play air football, table tennis, slot machines etc. The beach is behind the bar/entertainment area, and so there are security guards stopping people from the beach coming into the bar in the evenings. We wouldn't go back to this site, but don't regret going.

What unfulfilled promises. The worst holidays of my life: stressful.

This is an enormous campsite, divided in two, with loads of foreigners (ie not French). Moreover, right from the reception, everything is geared up just for them.

We hired a mobile home, and the shower had a leak, which meant that after many complaints (at least 3) and several days, we were finally able to shower in our own bathroom! And this was the very reason that we had chosen the mobile home option.

The two pools - tell me about it! No space on the sun beds, nor (the final solution) on the ground. There is not enough space for everyone.

The kids club: my children (5 and 8 years) only went twice, as the place was full of foreign children.

The activities: hopeless. And in the evening, if you wanted to be seated to see the entertainment, you had to be eating, otherwise stay standing, but two hours is a long time, especially when the entertainment was never on time.

On the other hand, the location, Marseillan Plage, is very good. On leaving the campsite, there's the town right on the doorstep, and on the other side of the road, the beach.

I would recommend an alternative campsite, more family-friendly, with a lovely pool, and in the same street as Les Méditerranées, without entertainment; but in the town, (I tell you) there is plenty to keep you amused without having to take the car: Camping Les Galets, Marseillan Plage.

That's where I'm going this year.
