I have visited the campsite 4 times before and are booked up and ready for 2011! Both my 11 year old and 16 year old children love it! They have friends who they meet up with every year so are occupied with the pool, lake and night time disco. The Lake and pool are great for the children and night entertainment is too. All the children get up and dance every night to all the holiday dances. The pitches are very big and accomadating and are very close to both swimming complex and bar, which is great! The site is fairly isolated with a 15 mins drive to the nearest supermarket, although there is a small one on the site. Other than that we barely leave it. Love this site and am really looking forward to going in August 2011!

Fantastic park and facilities. If you have booked, you will not be disappointed. Can't wait to go back next year. Site spotless, toilets and showers spotless. Very friendly English speaking reception staff.
Stayed in our own caravan. Pitch very large, easy access with large caravan, plenty of room for awning, plus gazebo, pup tent, dingy, and anything else. Lots of shade from pine trees, although the pitches down by the lake were very open and sunny. First campsite I've ever been on in France (Caravan Club sites in UK excluded), where it goes quiet at 11.00 at night, and you can get a good night's sleep.
Pool excellent, lake and beach excellent. Lake very clean for swimming, and excellent for fishing, very popular. Candy Floss, Crepes and Waffles for sale 2.50E each. Very popular with the kids. We went with 2 teenagers, 13 and 14, they didn't get bored. Plenty of free activities, including Badminton, Table Tennis, Cycling, Swimming in Pool and Lake (Platform in centre of lake for diving). Bring a dingy for the lake (although on sale in the shop). Crazy Golf beautifully landscaped. In fact, the whole park was beautifully landscaped. Flowers everywhere.
Didn't eat in the Restaurant as expensive so can't comment. Had barbecue instead. Pitches nicely separated from neighbours by hedges. Park not too big, so easy to get from one place to another. Didn't feel crowded, even in high season. Lots of walks and cycle routes around area through the woods. We took a dog, he had a fantastic time, they are allowed nearly everywhere, but not by pool, although they can sit under a sun umbrella on the grass by the lake. Play areas great for the kids, best I've ever seen on a French campsite.
Went to Chateaux Chambord (45min drive), 18E for family, and 2E parking. Worth a look around, if you just want to visit the grounds only 2E for the parking. Also Sully Sur Loire (1/2hr drive), nice chateau (free parking), and good market. Lots of markets most days locally. Salbris good town (15 min drive), went to Vet there for treatment re. pet passport scheme, not very keen on the Vet, will try the Vet in Lamotte Beuvron next time). Not very dog friendly! Cost 18E if you take your own Frontline and Drontal wormer tablets. Lamotte Beuvron good town as well (15 min drive).
Only minor gripe was the entertainment. Wonderful if you have young kids, but no adult entertainment in the evening. Although the Circus was quite good for the children. Loads of places to sit, drink, and eat around the park. Will definitely be going back next year.
By the way, make sure you don't turn up early to Dover to try and catch an earlier ferry in peak season, like we did. You will find yourself being turned away, in the middle of the night, with a caravan in tow, and nowhere to go!! We had to park on a layby and wait. Not much fun.
If you have a caravan, very long road on entrance to park, where you can park up and book in. Zoo Park (about 2 hours drive away), was a really good day out. Beautiful setting in Sologne, in the middle of a forest. Not isolated as some people have said, loads to do around and about, although we didn't really want to leave the park.
If you have booked, you will have a fantastic time. If you haven't booked, make sure you do. Enjoy!!

Had a great time, my only warning is don't bother using an operator (Eurocamp/Keycamp etc). Book direct with the site and save yourself a fortune. Their website is easy to navigate and the campsite staff were expecting us! Only paid 440 euros for a 5/6 person chalet in the last week of August.

Booked our break through Keycamp for one of their mobile homes. Campsite is easy enough to locate, keep your eyes peeled when travelling through Lamotte Beuvron for the turn off and then the camp site is located approx 14 km from this town.
When we arrived, you have to get the barrier code from reception and then locate the Keycamp reception (which was easy to find and next to the other holiday companies).
The pitch was medium size and surrounded by trees and pleasant enough.
The site has a great pool complex, with wave pool which our boys loved, although they did prefer the lake as I took the liberty of taking a large inflatable dinghy with me. Although they do sell them in the campsite shop. The lake is surrounded by a beach which is rather pleasant and is gently shelving. Many hours were spent by the lakeside.
The pool has 3 slides and 4 different pool areas. When we left on the 8th July, the site was getting busier, however, there is lots going on.
Crazy golf for 3 euros for an adult and 2 euros for a child, which is good fun. There is a restaurant, take away and bar on site, and a disco, although we didn't partake. The camp site shop is reasonably stocked but as always not particularly cheap! We used it for baguettes and croissants, although you need to be there fairly handy in the morning. To use the washing machines, you need to purchase a token for 6 euros, and 2 euros for the dryers.
There is also a library next to the main reception, where you can borrow a book if you desire, free of charge.
Keycamp staff were great and the mobile home was nice and clean.
The downside to this park is that it is a little isolated, 14km from Lamotte and the nearest supermarkets - Intermarche or Carrefor Market, and to get anywhere such as Chambord it is a fair run out. Having been to Saumur in 2008, it was very noticeable how much more isolated Parc Des Alicourts is, however, it didn't spoil our holiday and we planned our trips out accordingly, and stopped at the hypermarkets enroute back to the site.

Just got back from 16 nights (July/early Aug.) camping at Parc des Alicourts. Nice site, very clean, staff very helpful. Service poor in restaurant and quite expensive. Site is 15/20 minute drive from good Intermarche, but lovely walks all around area from site. Shop stocks essentials but as you would expect quite expensive. Ignore 10:30pm curfew if wanting quiet site as the disco does not finish until 11pm, 11:30 would be more realistic. Wouldn't recommend zoo at Beauval - enclosures seem very small for animals. No problems with restrictions around pool - although pool COLD!
Please do not follow Michelin directions from Boulogne/Calais through Paris !! Go via Rouen-much easier. Would recommend site if in a caravan, but a little too noisy at night for us in our tent.

Just arrived home from a great 2 weeks stay at Parc des Alicourts. The pool with slides was fab and the kids loved the wave pool. There were no restrictions around the pool area, our kids played with the ball in the pool and other families were using inflatables. There was certainly no restrictions on the use of sun cream You could eat and drink around the pool area to, which is often not the case in France. It was a very relaxed site and the entertainment staff were first class and nothing was to much trouble for them. The lake was beautiful and safe to use for a swim or to a mess about on a pedalo on. The site itself is immaculate and spacious. The pitches are a good size and offer some privacy. Overall an excellent site that I hope to visit again in the future.

We visited here in July 2008 for 7 nights. The park was spotless and we have a fabulous time. We had glorious weather, which was great and the children spent the entire week either in the pool complex or the lake. Children's disco at night with a nightly show which suited 4 year old daughter. Nearby football pitch, which suited 7 year old son and he was able to go there on his own in the evening to have a kick about whilst we were at the disco with the youngest. Once outdoor entertainment finished about 10.30pm, indoor disco then started in the lakeside bar.
Went with Eurocamp, mobile was clean and well appointed. Restaurant served excellent food although dogs were allowed in! Mainly dutch holidaymakers at the camp, not many brits which was absolutely fine.
We've booked for another Yelloh site at Les Mouettes for 2010!

Don't believe the hype above!
WARNING - this park is miles away from anywhere, 20 minutes to nearest supermarket by car. No cash point machine on site. On site supermarket only sells basic stuff. Pool area is good for kids with the slides but is too cold when we were there (June 08).
Park restrictions are too strict and quite frankly are a joke! The sign at the pool area says do not use sun tan lotion - so what are you supposed to do let your little kids burn in the sun! We were told not to use a small floaty toy in the pool which we happened to buy at the on site shop! We were also told not to eat ice cream around the pool area! - So are we on holiday or what?
Also, you cannot drive in or out of the park between 10pm and 7.30am. As we had the Eurotunnel booked for midday we had to leave our car outside the park so as to leave at 6am as we were not allowed to drive the car out before 7.30, we were told the car would be safe as there was security minding the vehicles which there was when we left it outside at 10 but in the morning at 6am there was no security to be seen.
Also, entertainment was lacking and given that we were there in June the park seemed dead!
Even though the pool area and lake is nice I would not recommend this park at all due to silly restrictions and rules.
We stayed at Union Lido (Italy) last year which was soooo much better!!!

Just got back from this site, August 07. Although we had a bit of rain, mainly at night, once the sunshine came out it was over 30 degrees. Excellent pool area, though the water was cold. Kids (8 years and 4 years) loved the site and could quite easily play safely in the children's pool with the slides. The bar area was excellent although a little pricey but everyone was very welcoming and spoke English. The shop was well stocked and the restaurant served excellent food. The children's club on site was very good with lots to do and the play area was good as well.
Overall excellent campsite, clean and tidy. The only downside was that it is a bit off the beaten track so you have to drive to the nearest town being 13 kms.
We would visit this campsite again, perhaps en route to the south of France where the weather is guaranteed!

We're just back from having spent 3 weeks on this site with our own caravan. Site facilities are excellent and pitches sufficiently big. The staff in general were very helpful...two of the staff kinda let the rest down...one girl in reception and one in the bar. Neither seemed to have any interest in customer care and customers seemed to be an irritation to them. Perhaps I was unfortunate to encounter both on a few different occasions when I was looking for info.
I think the use of large, aggressive guard dogs with security guards to patrol the campsite after 11.00pm was a bit heavy handed and unnecessary. Security and rules seem to be big issues/concern for the campsite owners. There was no evidence that this was necessary although maybe this was due to the rules etc!! The weather was very mixed which didn't help matters but all in all, despite the excellent facilities, the presence of the guard dogs (which gave my youngest nightmares) and the lack of assistance from two members of staff mean I won't be rushing back there next year.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay in our caravan. Weather was poor for August and we would recommend staying in June / July. Met some great friends but made several enemies (mainly Dutch) and the Dutch made up the vast marjority of visitors. They insisted on following camp rules - total silence after 10:30pm!!(what teenagers want to go to bed at this time whilst on holiday!!!!!)
We also encountered total lack of customer care from one girl at the bar (later informed that she was related to the owner) but Freddy the barman was excellent.
The security and guard dogs were way over the top and in my opinion the site is not yet geared up for teenagers but they are currently building an indoor swimming pool which might help considering the weather in this region!.
Excellent site for 11yrs and under but request sunny pitch near the main pool/ lake area.
Staff on site seem to work in fear of Senior management!
Tip of the day! - do not talk in your awning after 10:30pm or suffer a visit from your Dutch neighbour! ( A fellow Brit had a complaint whilst playing cards with his 11yr old daughter - not just us rowdy Welsh!

We stayed here in August, weather was terrible rained for 5 days. The campsite itself was very good, lovely pools and play areas, but as it was raining there was nothing for the kids to do, except play games in the caravan, which after 3 days got a bit tedious. Couldn't use the pools (they were very cold), On-site shop wasn't up to much, restaurant ok but expensive. Even the entertainment was outside so for 2 nights they couldn't do much and the night they did wasn't much good. We went with Canvas and I don't think any of the reps were over 20 and didn't help much when we asked if there was anywhere to go while it was raining.
But I didn't see any guard dogs around at night, but saying that our pitch was near the back of the site next to the golf course so perhaps they didn't come that far.

We went with Canvas in August 06; kids aged 20 months and 4. Our kids loved it - the lake beach is FAB; had the weather been better this would have kept them happy for the whole holiday. It is small enough to cycle round and our son was riding around like he owned the place by the end of the holiday. Good children's play area; reasonable shop but expensive, bike hire/mini golf, generally good facilities but we found the pool to be FREEZING. Far too cold for us, let alone small children. We tried twice to use it and gave up after 20 minutes when the children turned blue!
Although we didn't go ourselves because our children were in bed, we heard from others that the evening entertainment programme was first class.
We suffered because the weather when we went was pretty terrible - four days of unadulterated sunshine in two weeks. Because this site is in the middle of nowhere, it does challenge you when you have small children who are too small to play board games etc. There are only so many castles toddlers can put up with! We ended up going home a day early because of that, but we had no complaints at all about the site - except please heat the pool!!

Excellent campsite, spent 10 days in August, weather was good. Facilities very clean, shop excellent. Sporting facilities great, pool very attractive and clean but cold. The children swam in the lake and used inflatables. We didn't want to leave. The reception staff were very helpful and spoke fluent English. The site had a library and visitors were leaving their holiday reads to swell the book stock. We booked again for next year.

Fantastic site. We stayed there for 10 nights June'05. We had fab weather, our Thomson Al Fresco mobile home was immaculate. The size of the park made it ideal to hire bikes and ride around the site and the lake. The pool area is outstanding. There are small slides for the toddlers and larger slides for the older children. Another bonus for this park was the amount of sunbeds available around the pool, never a problem to get one. We travelled with our two little boys aged 3 and 5. We bought a dvd player for the drive and didn't have to listen to "are we there yet Mum?!" at all. There was a good mixture of international clients here, which didn't give the park the "Brits abroad" atmosphere which we really don't like.
The only negative thing I have to say is that the park is very isolated and you have to drive approx 10 km to reach a large supermarket. Night time noise levels were low but the park was getting very busy by the time we left. Kids facilities were fab. Quad bikes available during the afternoon, a fabulous adventure playground and pirate ship (which you can see from the bar, ideal if you want to chill out with a drink whilst the kids are having fun in full view.) The outdoor seating area overlooks the lakeside beach, a must for watching the sunset!
Overall I would give this park 10/10.
Happy Holidays!
