Remember that people are always more prepared to write and complain than they are to praise good service.

We spent the worst week of our lives here!
We had though that with 4 stars we would have peace, but not at all, you could get to sleep only at 2 or 3 am, as the youngsters were drunk and made loads of noise, and when I say young, I mean young: 12 or 13 years who were on the whisky, and yes, they'll sell alcohol to minors! We left lighter than we arrived, as our children's toys had been stolen! Super, given the price we paid! It's scandalous!

Never again ! Arrived on Saturday midday, and there was not welcome drink!! But it started well: mobile home was nothing special – much the same as on any campsite, so little chance of being disappointed.
Short tour by the owner: pool, premises, bar etc. Well ok, there's a nice outdoor pool, but above all don't look at the footbath, else you'll never go in. But the indoor “heated” pool is as big as a bathtub, equipped with a pretend Jacuzzi. Better to eat some beans the night before – you'll have more bubbles.
As for the entertainment, triple zero. The entertainment staff were mostly absent all week: the only one visible was more concerned with his iPhone than with his clients. If you are a fan of karaoke, you'll be well served, as they do that 3 times a week, with a little music quiz to fill in the rest of the week. Worth noting that you must buy food and drink in order to participate, as the entertainment happens in the bar.
In the daytime, you have the choice between boules and … boules.
As for children's entertainment, that's much the same, with an area with tables and crayons, and a few staff who don't know how to do the job, and then only in the morning. In the evening, your kids will go to a film session in the same room, and on a 20” screen, watching Disney films they've seen a dozen times before.

Superb water facilities, but the reception and other facilities were mediocre. Small pitches, exorbitant prices.

We had booked and paid in advance for our stay. When we arrived, the pitch (no 118) did not suit us at all, it was the first one by the entrance to this site of more than 400 pitches, close to the barriers that went up and down all day long, to the visitors car park, where people left their cars while the barriers were closed, to the pool (very noisy, with shouts and music), to the petanque court, and to the toilet block. We were close to the reception and the bar, and there was a lot of coming and going, impossible to sleep at night until 1am, with the entertainment in the bar, and the revelry that continued outside after it closed.
The next day, we asked to change pitch, as we were in a tent. They moved us to the other section of the site (across the road), where the days were more peaceful, but at night it was just the same, with youths shouting, singing and fighting, police and fire service arriving with sirens going, and the nights were very short and stressful. Unluckily, we were the only ones in a tent amongst mobile homes, of which one had been hired by a group of teenagers who played football inside, and who closed their wardrobe doors with a kick! And there was worse… we heard everything.
So, if you’re in a tent, and if you prefer peaceful holidays, don’t go here. For us, this was the worst holidays we’ve ever had.
However, if you want to stay in a mobile home, I think that would be more relaxing, and the activities are super (aquagym, fit club, children’s club…)
And as for the reception, we were welcomed well enough, but when we left, there was no thank you, nor even a goodbye!

Pitches small and slightly cramped with car parking. Pool area absolutely brilliant although sometimes crowded in August. Campsite restaurant had excellent food but the service was not that good.
Overall we had a very good holiday.

Our hols of 10 days July (quiet) into Aug (when French get their hols) starting Bastille day very busy. Site enjoyed by our teenagers so much they didn't want to go out anywhere. Very safe - you need an electronic pass to enter/exit with a vehicle. All staff speak excellent English but appreciate when you attempt their local lingo!! Excellent Super Store nearby. Local market day. Plenty of activities for all ages, from learning to sail, to inflatable play city for little ones with a pet farm! Ahhh! The B roads conditions are as good as A roads (use the Electronic Routefinder - we reduced our journey by 1 hr!! I thought I was good at map reading!!) Only 1 hr drive from Nantes Airport.

The Château Vieux campsite is quite simply brill! The entertainment is grandiose, but the pool area, with water slides and waterfalls was often crowded. The campsite is big, and there is even a small lake for fishing, and a football ground. Overall, fantastic holidays.
