This review is rather old. Treat it with care.

Good site on the banks of the Danube several miles north of Vienna in the town of Klosterneuberg. There are good rail links into the city very close to the site entrance. A great spot to use as a base if you want to spend several days seeing the city because at the end of the day you can get away from the heat of the city and relax on your flat pitch purchase items at the site shop or restaurant or have a dip in the excellent swimming pool and public park next door to the site.

Donaupark is a very clean, well organized park.

Staff and brochures are multilingual.

Info sheet for public transit to Vienna was given.

It was quite packed, but it was the only campground west of Vienna on our map.

The small car ferry near the campground (Rollfahre) saved us quite a drive, coming from the west.

The campground is only a block north of the Klosterneuburg train station. Buses and trains depart very regularly.

Of course Austria is not cheap, but that could be our only complaint.

There is beautiful walking in town and popular bicycle paths nearby. The campground even has a special section for bicycle campers.

We’ve been going to Donaupark every year for ages. It’s well organised, sometimes a bit crowded in August! The big advantage is to be able to drive as far as Vienna without encountering hardly any cars - it’s super!

One downside, however: the showers are a bit jaded, and the taps don’t always work well. As for the toilets, they’re ok, except for Sunday!

Compared with other campsites, including those here in France, it’s often much cleaner in Austria.

Apart from that, Austria is a fine country, and on a bike, it’s really superb, and well organised for it! For the campsite, I give it 8/10.
