I am the owner of a mobile home at the Carabasse, and I've been taking my three children (14, 10, 9) on holidays there in July/August for 7 years now, and believe me, they enjoy every minute, and can't wait for their next visit!

Very clean campsite, but full of English. There’s no one else there. Shame. Even the entertainers spoke little French. As for the security service, don’t make any noise after 11.30 pm, or you’ll have to answer to the ‘Chips’ (police on motorbikes, except these were on pushbikes). Entertainment left something to be desired.

Extraordinary!
Above all, the staff of this campsite are always available and helpful.
Certainly, this doesn’t come cheap, but it’s the price you pay for making your children’s dreams come true!
We’re even wondering, after meeting a salesman, whether next year we might buy a 3-bed ‘bungalow’.
I suggest that everyone come and join us and make merry around the pool!

We’re just back from La Carabasse after 3 weeks of idyllic holidays in June 2009. To start with, we had only booked 2 weeks, but then we didn’t want to leave! I took the trouble of phoning the site 3 days before arrival, to check all was ok, and the receptionist took the trouble to tell me the best time to arrive. Come the day, there was no problem at all, very nice welcome and answers for all our questions. The mobile home (Elégance 3 bedroom, aircon and terrace) was superb, functional, well equipped and very clean, with a sheltered terrace. True that the site team is bilingual, but I did not feel that the English were favoured. I should think they represented about 70% of the clientele in June, but rest assured that they are very friendly and courteous people who never bite [This was originally written in French, in case you hadn’t guessed!]. More seriously, congratulations to the entertainments team, brilliant, and always smiling (and they sing in Spanish). The evening entertainment happens on the bar terraces; we were never pushed into consuming more, and it wasn’t even obligatory to buy something before sitting down. The children’s clubs seemed very friendly, but we didn’t actually try them, as we preferred to remain as a family in the superb pool, whose temperature varied according to the outside temperature. As for the sunbeds, I don’t think that Siblu can do anything about the lack of consideration of parents who think that their children who pass the whole afternoon in the water need a sunbed each; we only needed one between four of us (and there was no lack). In summary, we had a brilliant time, we appreciated the welcome and the quality of the service (at a promotional tariff as well, having booked in April), and we will return without doubt!

Dreadful. At €1500 for a week, that's €3000 for the fortnight, it's lamentable. When we arrived, the mobile home was not ready, back at 6pm, the cleaning had not been done, the hired cot was defective, the mobile home was old, and hardly got any sun all day, with 2 sunshades (but we couldn't eat on the patio), pool was cold, and the sea a long way away. They want to play at "club med", but this is the "Flots Bleues" campsite (for anyone that's seen this French film).
The kids club happens mid-morning and mid-afternoon, so if you'd thought of going to the beach, think again.
Great favouritism for the English [the writer is French]: some activity leaders do not speak a word of French - we are in France you know!
Summary: useless. Above all, do not go here!

Hello,
Holidays in July/August 2007 at La Carabasse.
Pleasant village, and relaxing, except that the pool is cold. The beach is rather distant. Paid extra for football training, conducted by two Englishmen, who spoke not a word of French. Lack of empathy, and favouritism towards the English. The training was a mixture of all ages, leading to freezing out of the smaller French lads, combined with the favouritism.

Went with Siblu - must have had the most dated caravan on site - just managed to squeeze in our car (as long as next door did not overlap boat). Pool freezing. However, enjoyed holiday as a whole.

I have been there twice in the last year; once at Easter and then again in the summer, and wow can't wait to go back asap. I loved every little thing about the parc and its surroundings; the people, the scenery, the beaches and the heat. It was warm at Easter but in the summer wow it actually got to 40 which was amazing but soo warm. I love the place and can give nothing but positive reviews about it.
GO THERE !!!!!!

I had visited this site in 2003.
Remarkable deterioration since my first visit in 1998. Toilet blocks should have been renovated. Pool extremely cold. Planting not cared for, plants not being watered.

This site was excellent, we have stayed on loads of English caravan parks but this was our first time self-catering in another country and we were very pleasantly surprised. We drove from Calais and that was not as bad as I expected although it took over 9 hours with only a couple of short breaks.
Our caravan was huge we have 7 year old twin boys and a 13 year old girl so we had asked for a 3 bed roomed caravan and the one we got was like a house it had separate shower and wc a small kitchen a large living space with seats that convert to beds and a dining table and chairs. It was very clean and all the carpets and upholstery was in mint condition. We had a large space outside with garden furniture and a BBQ.
The site was quite busy but it was still very clean and well looked after. The pools are big and have a 4-lane waterslide. The boys loved the kids club but our daughter thought it was too childish for her. The supermarket on site was better than most of the camp shops we've seen in the UK but it was still cheaper to go to town and get a weeks shopping.
The takeaway had nice food and was reasonable but the pizzeria was very disappointing the pizzas were really thin and crunchy like a biscuit. The bar was friendly and good for kids.
The staff were friendly and very helpful although we didn't see much of Rory the tiger apart from the shows in the evening.
The nearby town Cap d'Agde is nice although not the cheapest for shopping. The beach is a short walk and is lovely. We spent most of our time on the site or the beach so we didn't see as much of the local area as we would have liked but there was loads of stuff to do. We wanted to hire bikes but thought our boys were a bit young to go out on the roads.
I would recommend this park but I would say that if you have hay fever then the end of May might not be a good time to go and I think it will be very hot later in the year.
I will certainly be going on a haven holiday again next year I thinking of Brittany to cut down on the driving if anyone has been to a haven in Brittany I would appreciate a quick email to let me know what it was like: suecurren@hotmail.com.
Ok that's all from me have a nice trip wherever you decide to go

Well I read reviews of this site from before it was bought by Haven Europe. It seemed really good! Me, I arrived in 2000, Haven had just bought it. I have a mobile home, type "Excellence", on the oldest part of the site. They told us they would be re-doing the site, they were joking! They never came to do anything, though it must be said that the first two years, the site had at least been tolerable. Since 2003, when Haven Europe became Siblu, it was catastrophe. Everyone speaks English all the time, and there are those that just do as they please!
Me, I am still the owner of my own mobile home, but now I am at a competitor site, where everyone is French!
