I stayed at this site in July 2005 and found it very good and safe for kids. The pool was very well supervised and a decent size. The entertainment for children was excellent at nighttime. I loved St Jean de Mont the village itself was fab and also the beach near by. Would recommend it for families as very safe.

I went to this site with my wife and 13-year-old son. My son loved the site he joined the kids clubs and made lots of friends (we hardly saw him during the day).

The site was well maintained and the staff all spoke English and were very helpful. We stayed in a mobile home that was a reasonable size and was a little bit basic but very clean and well looked after (We looked at the larger mobile homes and they were really nice) The pool complex was really good the pools aren't that big but they do have a good water slide and life guards.

They provided entertainment every evening that was better than a lot of shows I've seen and it was free. There is a supermarket on site which was ok just a bit small there are also a couple of restaurants which we didn't try and a takeaway which was excellent. There is also another site across the road owned by the same people and you can use the facilities there.

There is a great beach about a mile away and lots of small villages around.

I would recommend this site to anyone but especially to those with families, as they do seem to be focused on families with kids. The only real complaint was that there was no t.v in the caravan

One last point I booked through their direct sales line and was surprised that I got a really good deal on the ferry crossing, which I normally book independently.

Having worked on Bois Masson for a well-known camping company I feel I can give a fairly valid review.

The site itself was well looked after, and set within the shade of plenty of trees. The pool area is fine but nothing with much character. The waterslide will keep kids busy and the poolside itself is a suntrap.

The site has 2 bars, which again are fine but with no character, you could have been in any typical British bar. In general the site has a very "Brits abroad" feel about it, you would never have to utter a word of French, which I found general of the Vendée and a little disappointing.

Drinks prices were not great 4 euros a pint and about 6 euros for a spirit and mixer.

The onsite restaurant was actually very nice and reasonably priced.

If you are feeling lazy I can recommend the takeaway pizzas...pretty damn good...make friends with the guys who serve you and you’ll get extra portions ;)

If you are on site in a tent rather than a mobile home be aware that the toilet block shuts at I think its 11/12...there is a night toilet behind the main block. Many people were not told of this and thought they had to use a bush!! (I would not recommend this).

There are plenty of things for kids and teenagers to do with the clubs and on site entertainment run by haven. The site tends to be very popular with families with teenagers so there are plenty of opportunities for them to make friends and leave adults in peace and quiet for most of the day :) what more could you ask for??

All in all I would definitely recommend this site to families. Not so much if you fancy a quiet few weeks though!
