Denny Wood will grab you as soon as you enter the site. I have called in when passing before and seen the site in spring,, summer and autumn. I suggest you visit and stay within these three seasons to experience the sheer natural beauty of this grassy wild wooded site among ancient oaks. Our visit over the Easter weekend was one of pure bird song and children happy at play, the site was not full and everyone seemed to place them selves with thought and respect for each other.

I would say that you can escape at Denny Wood, the wardens were very laid back, pleasant and advisory. You must have your own toilet tent or facility. The site only provides for chemical waste emptying and fresh water and that’s all you get, no electric, 170 pitches. Simply enjoy Denny Wood, lots of songbirds and plenty of deer we spotted two groups of ten plus at various times much to the delight of our six year old, we stayed on the overflow area with about twenty four others although this was our choice and not a requirement.

Beaulieu is only just up the road and home too the National Motor Musuem and Bucklers Hard with its interesting maritime history. Situated just 2.5 miles from Lyndhurst on the B.3056, OS Grid Ref SU 334 069.

The site is very reasonably priced and open from March to September, please telephone to check dates and book ahead at busy times.
