Campsite located outside the town, quoted as 5 stars by the Scottish Tourist Guide. Site for tents very well maintained, slightly sloping. Toilet blocks clean and sufficient for the size of site. Showers spotless and free. Small shop (at reception) well organised with everything necessary for the camper who has not been able to stock up beforehand, also a chip shop next door, and a small restaurant within 100m. Location calm and peaceful after a day’s walking, or spent in the town. £14.50 for two people with small tent and car.

Families / campers should be aware that this campsite has a shabby attitude & a money grabbing mentality. We turned up as a family - we are mum, dad, 2 kids under 16. We had 3 tiny tents between us - one 2 man dome tent & two 1 man tents - the sort u have to crawl into, however the people we encountered on the day we arrived insisted we paid for 3 tents at a cost of £30+ per night! They failed to grasp that when placed close together are no bigger than the average family sized tent which would cost around £10 per night. Their attitude stunk & so did their toilet facilities. Backpackers are getting a raw deal! We stayed at many excellent campsites during our tour of scotland & paid on average £14 per night. Incidently we did not stay, but travelled 10 minutes up the road to Gairlochy. What a contrast! A small site that went the extra mile to make you feel comfortable & welcome. We paid £13.50 for the night.

This is the third year in a row that I’ve spent a night at this campsite. Ok, it has all that you need, but it’s the most expensive that I have visited! (£15.50 per night for a small tent, 2 people and a car) This year in Scotland, I have paid between £5 and £15.50 per night, via £9, £10 and £12!
