I went here in the second fortnight in July 2011, with the wife and 2 children. We had a great time, despite the weather in the third week.
One heated pool, where my daughter (11) had great fun with friends, 2 concrete table tennis tables, outside and in a good state, one table football, one pool table, and two proper boules courts (very well maintained), one volleyball court, and one playground limited to the youngest (slide, roundabout,…). Pitches are mostly shady, and not crammed in. The site is protected from the wind, which can be quite strong on the edge of the beach. This is a small, family campsite, very peaceful, very clean, very well tended, where the majority of the clientele is from the wider region, with lots of children running about, which makes it feel very friendly. Two outside barbecues. Activities during the week: 1 pétanque competition, and one table tennis, one dance evening (with DJ), and activities for the youngsters and pre-teens.
What's more, the whole team is super friendly, and available late in the evening in the bar for a bit of a laugh. On a practical note, two big supermarkets about 10km away.

Two-star campsite at a good price. Toilet blocks very clean, and mostly sufficient. Pitches are spacious, but a bit irregular, and mostly wooded. This year, they opened a good big pool, and a paddling pool. There is a large bar with terrace, which provides a few supplies (really very few). Bread and cakes available to order. Swing, roundabout, volleyball court, two small boules courts, and one concrete table tennis table. On exit from the campsite, the sea is about 100m away. There is a large sea-water pool with a promenade in wood (very pretty and clean) and just beyond it, the ocean. On the other hand, nothing but a snack bar/ice cream shop and a pizzeria. It's a shame, because you have to take a vehicle, because the town of Marennes is a bit far, and even there, there's not much (10 or so shops). Not much in the way of activities at the campsite: in two weeks, there was one boules tournament, one paella evening, one karaoke evening, and the election of a Miss and Mr Campsite. What's more, the bar closes at 10pm when there's nothing on, and that's a bit early. There's practically no one at the children's club, and the teenagers are just about allowed a snooker competition and one of mini-football, which was then cancelled due to lack of participants. It's a very peaceful campsite, with a majority of mobile homes, and the owners are friendly. In conclusion, I would say that it's not a good place for teens and adults who want active holidays, but better for younger children and those who are looking for peace and the benefits of bathing close by. The campsite accepts animals, but they are completely forbidden on the beach. Very few foreigners, and a complement of campers of every social level. Which provides a very good friendly atmosphere. Small downer - no take-away, chippie etc on site, just a pizza van that comes Saturday evening.
