Hoped for a nice couple of days away. What a mistake. Firstly our touring caravan wouldn’t fit onto the pitch allocated, we had told them when we booked the size of the van which is 26.5ft long and they said this was ok. The pitch, which we measured, was approx 25ft long so we had no chance and that was width wise, length wise was shorter. We went to tell them and they had nowhere else for us to go so we had to go on a pitch that was for statics. Then there was no electric, moved us again to another static pitch which was not proper footings it was hardcore dumped down, with mud everywhere, due to major gas works going on so all the road was dug up with holes everywhere, there were wires everywhere, really dangerous for children, my little lad fell numerous times being covered in mud. One good thing the bars were non-smoking except for when the regulars decided to open the fire escapes in the bar to go for a cigarette and then everyone was freezing. Nobody had a good word to say about this site, it was definitely a holiday from hell.

Not too keen on the area surrounding the pitches here, not a great view or much room for the kids to play in but other than that, we think this site has been slated a little too much. The pool area is great on a rainy day, very clean, warm and safe as is the children’s indoor soft play area. The takeaway food stand is always handy for a snack and my children loved the outdoor play area although they always came back covered in mud. We didn’t use the bar in the evening so unable to comment but the toilets and showers were of an ok standard, have seen much worse on my travels!
