Remember that people are always more prepared to write and complain than they are to praise good service.

I have been on many trips myself and by far I have NEVER been treated this BAD when I went camping (the emphasis has to be put). The owner is this older Scottish fellow. He was not pleasant at all to deal with. I mean, he talks in this condescending manner to people, telling them in a stern voice to do this or that and he has very little patience when it comes to people questioning him as I could see he got visibly agitated when we asked him about him about why renting boats and canoes was so expensive for half day, it was around $15 off the original price of $65. We didn't mind, as price was no a big deal but then for no reason he kept dropping names of BC officials and I thought to myself do I care if the vice chief of lakes and rivers under 5K in the interior of BC come to camp?. Throughout all this he kept saying he was a nice guy, sure buddy. Then on our final day he told us there was a $5/person visitors fee, no our visitor had come previously while Dave (the owner) neglected to say anything to us or our guest even though our guest had to sign in with him. We told him this and he pointed to a nice "policy board" if you can call it that, BELOW his desk where its too dark to read. Honestly if he was truly professional he would put it up where everybody can see it not only people under 4 feet. There is also too many restrictive rules the campfire has to be out by 11 or he will charge us, no visitors past 10:30(what the hell was the $5/person for?) or he will charge us. When using his OLD canoes that were scratched and dented we had to bring it back by 8 pm sharp and put it exactly where it was on the rack or else..... you guessed it he will charge us $50 dollars and to clarify the water around that area is infested with insects(mostly mosquito larvae and other bugs) and filled with moss and algae. I don't mind that but to advertise on your website that it is great for swimming is just flat out lying. No music, loud talking allowed either. Honestly if you plan to go here as a form of punishment go ahead but if not just travel up the road a few km's to Sun Peaks and see how professionals treat people.
