Although accustomed to camping holidays, l’Anse du Brick is a 4-star site, the like of which I have seldom seen.
In terraces on the side of a hill, there’s a view of the bay to take your breath away.
Spacious pitches with flowers, maintained like an English garden.
New toilet blocks with super facilities and always clean.
Washing up area with a panoramic view.
Around the site: lovely walks in the woods or on the shore.
Attention: very hilly; pushchairs not advised.
Bike: you’ll need breath and muscle. Lots of hills and 2km of roads to get to little villages and peaceful lanes.
Kayak trips in the bay (hired at the campsite).
Ambience: Family campsite. Lots of games for the children. No entertainment after 11pm. No disco. Bigger kids could be bored.
Lovely pool, though a little small. Small beach, but not busy, and with direct access from the site. No sand at high tide. Bigger beaches 3km away.
Good quality restaurant with a superb view across the sea.
Small shop on site, but with reasonable prices. Supermarket at 5km, vehicle recommended.
Next year, we’ll be trying the accommodation arranged as a village (no lines of mobile homes) which seems very recent. Some have a precipitous view of the beach.
Reception: friendly, with staff readily available, and helpful.
Region: The presqu’île de Cotentin is a magnificent region. Wild and varied landscapes, lots of places to visit.
Conclusion: A place to be recommended, a site worthy of the Castels chain.
