Hello,
A little review that may be constructive:
The Camping du Chercheur d’Or is ideally situated, not far from towns worth visiting such as Anduze or even Alés, and you can even buy your bread and paper at the pretty little village of Cardet if you don’t fancy the shop on site.
The staff is quite welcoming and friendly.
The site is well equipped: there is a small shop, bar, restaurant (not tried) and some games (table football, table tennis, pinball).
As for water activities, there is a water slide, a paddling pool for the little ones, a small swimming pool, as well as a private beach on the river.
The problem with this site is the management. I’ll explain. The pool is not supervised, or only from the bar(!) It’s not very safe, especially when you have very small children. Nor is the water slide, and it’s especially dangerous because of the behaviour of some children (and adults).
But worst of all is the cleanliness of the pool! The owner happily fills the pool with untreated water n the evenings from his hosepipe. The bottom of the pool is slippery (algae? Organic matter?) and the water is very dirty.
Despite that, the site is a good one. The mobile home that we hired was above average (compared with others over the 10+ years that we’ve been hiring them).
We will certainly return, and next time, we hope to be able to use the pool!
Louis
